Getting Back in the Health Business - Need Advice

I realize that. But isn't the MLR part of the same bill which would become obsolete if the individual mandate is thrown out? Correct me if I'm mistaken.

There is nothing that required carriers to drop our commission. It was simply to comply with the MLR. They don't have to raise them if and when Obamacrap is overturned.

They might "give" us back a few points but I can't see commissions ever returning to pre-socialist levels.

Like you said if and when Obamacrap is tossed out. Then the "free-market" will be the determining factor as to what agent commisions will be. How could it be any other way? Especially in a State like Texas. All it will take is a couple of very aggressive carriers to scale back on some of the ludicrous benefits and bump up commissions and away we go!

You could be correct but I wouldn't want to bet my future on that.

I agree with that Rick, and even "if" it is done it will probably be two years away. So to reiterate what you said earlier he will need some family financial support or a working spouse or mom's basement.

Yeah, the carriers might raise commissions back to what they were.

The problem is no one would notice because we'd all be too busy trying to catch the monkeys that would be flying out of our butts.

Even if commissions doubled (if Obamacare is done), it won't matter in the long run if they don't fix the system. I don't think it will be affordable to many of the ones it has been if they can't contain costs. Any commission of something that many can't afford will put a lot of agents out of business.

Looking to get back into the health insurance business here in Missouri. Workk selling Med Supps for 10 years plus and did very well.

May also want to sell Individual health.

I also have 10 years internet marketing experience.

Having said that not sure where to start.

I dont know what company has the best rates and comission and reasonable underwriting.

Can anyone point me in the direction of the biggest bang for my buck?

What in the world are you thinking? Look at the reality of the landscape. You will probably starve.
