Cold calling B2C, even calling on FE leads, is way tougher than cold calling B2B in person or over the telephone.

You guys who set your own appointments consistently should be proud of yourselves.

It really is not as bad as you think. You will get a lot of hang ups or people not interested but if you have a list with enough contacts and a decent script you will set the appointments. I used to really hate cold calling but as I do it more the easier it becomes. But at the end of the day from what I have seen is it is a numbers game.

I decided to go into the FE market about 3 years ago. I had a horrible year where I couldn't get my aps out of underwriting. Decline after decline. No matter how much I dislike some of the mechanics, it's absolutely great having an underwriting discission before I leave the client's home.

they are so random, that market God Bless em, gives me the heebie jeebies. grind it out baby! door knock, hunt em down!

davidp711 is right. It's a numbers game. What I've found is that if you commit to lead gen each day whether it be for 20 minutes or 2 hours you will build that lead pipeline. As far as the calling, you just become numb to the no's and get excited every time you get a prospect. And if you're using a dialer, any dialer will do, you really don't get a chance to get demotivated.

I thought he said once before it was uniform (clothing attire) cleaning service.

I thought he was doing really good with FE. Maybe he got an offer he couldn't refuse?

Benefits for my family -- my wife has a pacemaker, and we wanted to get pregnant. We're due for twins in July or August.

I'm still pitching FE after work 3 days a week. Working the 'hood in Chattanooga, but am going to switch over to rural Northeast Alabama in a month or so.
