Yeah well wait till tax time dude. Your telling agents and consumers to put in gross income. So if they have gross income of 40k and MAGI of 10k tell me what happens in a non-expanded medicaid state. You know what happens? they will end up paying back all that money during 2016 tax season. Insurance is not offer for adults in non expanded states. This is why your system uses Gross income you get more apps that way. Am I correct or tell me if I am wrong

You are wrong.

I suggest you reread the APTC clawback provisions for folks under 200% FPL; as it is capped at $300 individual/ $600 family.

Yep I am partially wrong on that if your going by that percentage. If your going by 400% FLP you pay the entire amount back. If your in the 300-400 up to $2,500 for a family.

Regardless good catch on that.

You are quite the ***.

If you don't know that every experienced agent tells their self employed clients that it's the AGI from their self employment, after deductiions, not the gross, then you should be embarrassed-of course you are too intent on trying to be something other than the *** you are to understand that.

Here is something from HCG which should calm everybody down and avoid bickering:
"How to make a ballpark estimate
Start with your adjusted gross income (AGI). You'll find this on your most recent federal income tax return. For most people, you can just use your AGI as your ballpark estimate for Marketplace eligibility."
UC Berkley Labor Center published " For most individuals who apply for health coverage under the Affordable Care Act, MAGI is equal to Adjusted Gross Income."
By the way, I don't recall anywhere in the HCG application where it asks for your MAGI, it only asks for your anticipated income. I suppose MAGI will come up when you're tackling your tax return.

Come on man. Here is the link that healthcare.gov shows when getting a quote through them. This is the proper way to do it. But I guess you know more than they do.

Very appropriate post, I was just going to suggest the Kaiser Family publication:
FEBRUARY 2011
"Reconciliation of Advance Payments for Health Insurance Subsidies"
I know this ACA is complicated, but let's not disseminate misinformation.

Your link is where I got my quote from!

nliang,

I have one of my enrollees that didn't pay her premium and got cancelled 12/31.

How do I resubmit her for a 2/1 effective? Can I use the same application or do I have to enter everything again?

G Gordon - resubmitting works, we can also just re-enroll again to save you time. Email [email protected] with the app? taterpeeler is spot on regarding multiple submissions (single fee per applicant per enrollment period).

Thanks!
Ning
