Help!!!!Term for a 57 Yr Old with a CPAP

I hear ya. That's what I was thinking. I haven't done any FE yet. Still same carriers. Did check the ones I have and he would be a decline. I wonder if Forresters would take him. My darn quoting site is acting up, can't pull the underwriting out for others. Guess I'm on the horn tomorrow.

I did get a nice guaranteed acciflex done. But would like a bit more. In all these years haven't done that yet but I learned that in this forum, that FE policys are more relaxed underwriting. :)

Grabbed a CI on spouse too. Smaller pay but it all adds up. $750ish.

Thanks again. Its late here in Mich. Have a good night.

Im double posting, but this might help someone.

I did go back and look at Transamerica, just for the hell of it. Glad I did, because they will consider him without a hassle as long as all of his issues have been controlled for a good length of time (I think 2 years), which they have.

A table rate of 50% (Table B)--Their Trendsetter LB.

Unreal, if you have any high riskers, this is not a bad deal. This guy has at least four issues (higher weight, C-PAP-mild sleep apnea, HBP med, and Glucophage for mild diabetes--good numbers here and with the HBP).

They used to not be so lenient in the underwriting. I've always tried to steer clear of the more "unhealthy" clients and write Genworth, simply bc of a very nice contract and nice plans. BUT, this laxed underwriting might be worth using this company again.

I'm confused here?? Did you already go through UW with Trans, or is the Table B just based on a quick quote?

I apologize if this is a stupid question. I have a client who is undergoing a sleep study and will probably be a very similar situation (not sure whether it's sleep apnea, etc., need to wait for the results). I double app'd him to Pru and Banner.

I called and spoke with an underwriter twice. This guy had his sleep study done ten years ago and all of his issues have been controlled for as long. It makes a difference if its been a certain amount of time. Its still in underwriting.

Of course, they will APS him. And want everything to be at least mild and no more than moderate for the sleep apnea. If its severe or and shows that in the medical records he will be a decline.

The underwriter at Trans told me only table B, when I called and thought I should go in high at a D.

I imagine this will take at least 3 weeks or more and it will depend. Also, I have been quoted one thing on the phone and have even had a decline with trans that has been "negotiated" as an accept with a high rate up.

I still don't know how it will go. I underpromised with the client, just in case.

Good luck, but my suspicions are since your guy is just getting his sleep study done, not enough time has passed to show that the condition is stabilized and controlled.

Let me know what happens. These cases are always good to track.

----------

I also put him on a guaranteed issue Assurity ROP acci-flex for good measure.

That might be all he can do for now. We shall see...

----------

Oh if its not sleep apnea with your guy, prob need more tests to figure it out. Interesting...update when u find out please. Thanks.

Ok, that makes more sense. It will be interesting to see how your client is rated.

Apparently, my client says that his sleep study is more of a precautionary measure and that his GP thinks it's a very mild issue, but we'll see. Of course, everyone always thinks they're the healthiest person alive and that there's nothing wrong with them - Definitely one of the joys of our business. Haha. Will keep you posted!
