Help W/ SIAA and Smartchoice Calculations

does noodle still pay you renewal if you leave for 2 yrs?

I believe any company you leave will still pay you renewal on the business you still have with them. You will not do new business with them. The things that will sucks is you still have to service the clients using them..unless you replace the policy.

Its not that bad, because first, you get renewal commission and second, you would have to serve those clients anyway either with Noodle or some where else.

Now that you joined the group Congatz and now go and write lots of biz......

also see which companies you'll have access to in your particular state. smartchoice was limited for me. siaa was better and also agreed to 5k with me.

I have been looking into both as well. I have not met with a Smart choice rep yet but after talking with SIAA there are a few things that I don't totally agree with.

One of their requests is that I immediately bring on a CSR. As a start-up is it completely necessary to have a CSR right off the bat? Do you think something like this is negotiable as well?

This will be a bit of a flippant answer, but hey, it is what it is....

Check your business plan. Can your growth be obtained without a CSR? Really? Sure you didn't miscalculate somewhere along the way?

If your plans don't call for a CSR for a year or longer, then sure, move along and find another MGA to work with. Beyond that though, realize having a CSR is probably a good move. It frees you up to market and network and get business in the door.

who the hell needs a CSR from the start? and you dont need a management system from the start,

extra overhead, setting yourself up for failure.

Spend that money in markerting.

I agree. If you REALLY are concerned about a CSR then see if the carrier has a call center option. Kemper does, as does Safeco, and I know other carriers do as well. They usually take a point or two out of the commission, might be less if you are with a cluster that negotiates a lower rate. If you don't write, you don't pay them. In the long run it's better in my opinion since it allows you more time to service and gives you the appearance of being a professional with good resources. It can just suck in the beginning when you are trying to make every dollar possible. But they also take place of the management system in the beginning and any changes done are on THEIR E&O, not yours.
