Hi :) I Need Some Advise!!

I was thinking the same thing, but Newby said his contracts are low, so I just figured I misunderstood.

I misread because he didn't say his commission %. But I'm 90% sure he's on a low one.

Sounds like Lincoln Heritage. Sounds like he's getting the scrap leads his manager doesn't want and paying over retail for them too.

This is common throughout the insurance FE industry, managers give old leads and say they are fresh at top prices especially to Newbies. You found the forum learn fast from the pros so you can talk to your manager about this. If he dosent shape up. There are a lot of very good IMO on here. Fexcontracting, Todd King, 360, Rearden to name a few.

Dont forget Agent5Guy and Boman too:biggrin:

OK I understand all this but I gotta ask the question, the elephant in the room....Why do these agents and agencies screw their agents with old or recycled leads? I just dont get it, it would be the last thing I would do. Isnt it in the best interest of the upline GA to get their agents good leads? or at least point them in the right direction to do their own lead drops or purchase leads elsewhere?? Why are soooooo many of these hacks ripping off agents with bogus and old leads? Is the washout so high they figure they will at least make money off a dumbo agent before he quits? It just seems counter productive and actually a failed business plan in itself, the GA or upline agent should help the agents in his group either:

1. Develop a plan on how to get their own leads

or

2. If the IMO has a lead program dont rip them off!! Give them their fresh leads.

Arrgghhh it just boggles my mind why guys do this to agents and also why agents let themselves be molested like this. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure out real quick if leads are being double dipped or if they have been sitting around since Moby Dick was a minnow!!!

You ask a good rhetorical question...why do IMO's rip off new agents...because 90% are lazy and will fail out of the business...they figure they might as well get something for their hand holding.

You've talked to at least as many, if not many more 'new' agents. You know how "bright" a lot of these people are. They will question and lead source til it's blue in the face...even though very successful agents are using them. The list goes on and on and on and...well you know

strong words. is that a consensus? ( Unwanted leads go to newbies at full retail)

They make a TON of money doing it.

The chance of them making any real money off over rides on new agents is about 20%. The chance of making money reselling them garbage leads is 100%.

On a lot of these threads there seems to be a common denominator. They start the agent with good leads and then the leads go downhill. My guess is those that the agents who actually produce a good amount of production continue to get the good leads.. But, if the new agent does not produce a satisfactory a satisfactory amount with the good leads, they assume he is going to wash out anyway so they make what they can by pawning off the B leads at full price while they can. On the producers they make money off the overwrite. On the non producers they make money off the leads. Sounds like a standard business plan.. You make the profit where the profit is to be made.

That's right but I would say it's more common for them to never even start the agent with any good leads. The bad IMOs make the agent produce something with the bad leads first.

That's why I've always preached that "free leads" "discount leads" Magic leads" and any of that stuff to get you to sign on the line are fool's gold.

Agents should have the option to buy their own leads any where they want. The IMO should have recommended lead vendors but the agent knows he's getting ALL the leads, not the picked over ones. If the IMO has lead programs that are attractive (we do) that's icing on the cake. That should be optional and not come at a reduced commission.

Agents should never be totally dependent on their up line's mercy for leads. You are getting your relationship off to a bad start if you do that.

I don't think an LH manager would make any money off this agent if he fails at all.

They finance all the leads. If they give trash to an agent and sell it at full price, the manager would end up paying for all the leads himself as soon as the agent fails.

It would actually cost an LH manager more money when an agent fails than another manager without financing.

The risk is much much lower for the uplines who don't finance their agents leads

The leads would most likely be fresh in California. Its mandatory for the managers in CA to discount any leads over 30 days old for LH.

In Ca my fresh leads are $36. Over 30 days is $18. Over 60 is 8. Anything over 90 is free. This is not including production discounts.

Most Managers in ca have similar discounts due to the age of the lead. But it could vary slightly..

UBI in the southeast does not work that way.

Which way? With the lead discounts or the debt?? The discounts have nothing to do with LH. The discounts are made mandatory by my IMO not by Lincoln. I agree with GM. I don't think agents should be charged full price for old leads. Even 30 day old leads
