I'll be up front-- I have no business background, but I do have many contacts in the city where I live. I have a M.S. degree in environmental sciences, but I would like to supplement my income by selling insurance, perhaps Aflac supplementals specifically.

Am I out of my mind in even thinking I could do this part time and be successful? I'd really love any advice, encouraging or telling me I'm nuts. Should I apply directly with Aflac or maybe speak to a local agent first?

Thanks in advance.

I think there are far better choices for earning part-time income. For many just getting started in financial services, they are having a hard enough time making part-time money with full-time effort.

Not only that, but would you trust your family's financial security to someone who is doing it as a sideline?

If you are working full-time at another job my guess is that you will be unsuccessful.

AFLAC will be a waste of your time.
