How to Get Money to Get Car Fixed?

As much as I hate to say this but I would consult with a lawyer. I know here in my state there are several firms that one can call to get some quick answers at no charge. I know a few cops from the gym and they are some of the dumbest young twits around. Sometimes I question their judgement and how they would handle certain situations.

I have no problem with the police doing there job and instances like these are few. However when things go not as planned, somebody needs to pony up some dough and that would be the party involved with the deepest pockets IMHO.

Yep, Ob1k, I agree with you there about the police doing their job.

If it was in a city I would call the mayors office and see if they will do anything. Probably not but yu never know. My car was repaired by the city after being hit by a stray golf ball from a city owned course.

so are you saying a cop shouldnt pursue someone?

What of they let that person "get away" and he goes free and days later, rapes your mom, or kills your spouse?

a Police pursuit is just another act of stepping outside your front door, ANYTHING can happen.

If you were 16 again, and KNEW the cops wouldnt/couldnt chase you, would you pull over?

The issue is, when someone does run from a cop, there isnt a more severe penalty for them, and pusuit should be an automatic 10 years in prison. Then we would see how many pursuits happen, there will ALWAYS be pursuits, but a harsher penalty needs to happen.

NO. What I said was........"I have no problem with the police doing there job and instances like these are few. However when things go not as planned, somebody needs to pony up some dough and that would be the party involved with the deepest pockets IMHO."

What if the cops, in an auto pursuit that wasn't warranted, crashed into your mom and killed her?

Exactly. Another example of something extreme that could happen.

Luke 12:48: "from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked"

Spot on. I tried to elaborate more on that but what you quoted pretty much sums it up.

Look at that recent situation in New York where police fired bullets and injured innocent people. I haven't read much about it but I think that was the case.

yes like case stated above, the stray bullets that bounced off pots and things.

the bystanders who got shot, should their medical bills be covered?

You would imagine the city is going to responsible. I doubt there will be any civil or criminal liability for the individual cops unless it can be shown they were negligent in their actions. Firing a weapon on a crowded city street is definitely questionable, but if they reasonably believed he was going to fire at them I would think it would be upheld as justified.

Why wife was hit by a reckless uninsured motorcyclist last month that totaled out her car and killed the biker.

We had canceled our coverage with Progressive 2 weeks earlier and went with an Indy agent that was supposed to put us with Safeco. The guy never turned in the application.....

I just thank god that the guy hit my wife's 2002 Toyota and not my G35.
