The 700 billion was passed quickly because such a huge ammount of the political contributions and lobbying came from the companies that benefited from the TARP. Do you think those same people without health insurance have that kind of lobbying and $ behind them to make this whole thing REAL, or do the multi-billion dollar health carriers, who have still made enormous profits in this economy, have the politicians secretly on their side? I truly doubt there will ever be a true healthcare reform in this country. I have a HUGE secret to let you guys in on......(politicians say things to get elected)

TARP money and its quick passing thru congress had nothing to do with its lobbyists and constituents... It had to do with the utter FEAR... yes FEAR of the TOTAL COLLAPSE OF OUR BANKING AND MONETARY SYSTEM. Period and nothing else.

Yes, politicians do say things to get elected... and the really sad thing is that we have a large segment of American that wants to be cajoled by these lying b*astards... and told just how nicely they are going to massage your b*lls. Disgusting to how low we have stooped as a society.

With all the unemployment going around, more and more people are going into insurance sales. Heard thru the grapevine that insurance classes are packed.

I also noticed i'm getting more solicitations in the mail from L&H agents, people I never heard of, not to mention all the telemktg pre-recorded calls. Somebody's working.

Does that mean the business mkt is getting swamped with calls? Can the residential be far behind?

On PBS last week the topic was healthcare. They interviewed a health ins agent in Kansas City who said his business doubled because of benefit cutbacks/losses.
