IHIAA?? New Agent help!

Thanks so much for all of your answers. Quick response too! There are so many sites out there with "insurance sales help" that it is hard to know which one to choose to get the information that you are searching for. I'm going to go ahead and join. I'm up for anything that is worth it but you can't join them all ya know!
This site has actually been a big help to me as well. Tons of great info on here and you can't ask for a better setup when you get fast answers from all different types of insurance agents from all over the country!

Definitely worth more than the price of admission Ashley... especially if you are new.... besides, it's a month to month fee... no huge outlay of cash to join. If you see value, stay... if not, leave... a bit of a no brainer.

Dont forget to mention that the "Month to month" is still a commitment of 12 months. You cannot cancel until your 12 months is up. Which is bull to me:skeptical:

Why would that be "bull" as you put it? This is what the agreement clearly states.

$19.95 per month. Upon joining and choosing the monthly payment option you are agreeing that the membership is annual and not subject to cancellation. Monthly payments will automatically recur on the same day of each month from the date you joined.

It's your responsibility to read the contract terms before taking action.

I did notice that it was a 1 year contract with no way to cancel it so it was not exactly "month to month" as Alsky put it. Nevertheless, that does only make it $240 per year and they have tons of discounts. (Actually, I think it is only $200 if you pay for the full year anyway.) One of the discounts is on E&O which everybody needs for $400 per year. The cheapest that I have found E&O is $600 per year so that almost covers the cost right there. I did join and from what I have seen so far, if you do any kind of marketing that involves a cost you will most likely make up the difference there. This basically makes it free and as a new agent in the health market, the information that I have gained from IHIAA in just the 3 days that I have been a member has been absolutely invaluable and I would happily pay twice as much for it. I would definately recommend this to any new agent looking for support and information as well as to seasoned agents who are looking for the discounts and networking.

I actually did notice that it was a year long contract that you could not cancel so it is not actually "month to month" that you can cancel if you are not happy with as Alsky put it. Nevertheless, they have discounts that more than make up for the cost. One of them is E&O for $400 per year. The cheapest that I have seen for E&O is more like $600 per year so that almost makes up the difference right there. They also have tons of other discounts and from what I have seen, if you do any kind of marketing that involves purchasing leads, you will more than make up the difference there. Also, I believe if you pay for the full year up front it is only around $200. All of that being said, I joined more for the information that I needed rather than just the discounts and in the 3 days that I have been a member I have learned enough to say that it has been absolutely invaluable to me as a new agent in the health market. I have not accessed even half of everything that they offer and I would gladly pay twice that much for it without all of the discounts. I would strongly recommend IHIAA to any new agents who are looking for a bit of support as well as to seasoned agents who could use the discounts and networking.

You know... I stand corrected. I am sorry Ashley... I hope you did not make the decision to join because of my inaccurate advice.

But as far as reading the agreement, not for nothing, if you think I'm reading any agreement that's costing me $19.95 a month... forget about it! Guess what, I didn't read my GoToMeeting agreement either... $50 bucks a month. Oooh! Should I consult with my lawyer...

Besides, if I wanted out, I can get out... internet agreements are bullsh**!

That being said, I like the IHIAA and I truly believe he (John) is a stand up guy and his association does have value. If that ever changes, I'll take a powder, but for now... Cheers John!

By the way, I am a paying member and plan to be for a long time...
