Ihiaa

I have yet to be disappointed with either this forum or Ihiaa. If I hadn't found this place I'd be flipping burgers by now, and the combo of the stuff I learned here, Ihiaa, and HCO has literally made a huge difference in my comfort level selling health insurance, which is 9/10th of the fight it seems like to me.

for us newbies

can you provide links for IHIAA, ILIAA, HCO? Thanks.

i'm just checking things out still to determine whether or not i can make a living selling insurance. i've not even taken the prelicensing classes yet. but from going through this forum, i think i've already decided to not be anyone's captive, so i'm looking for resources of how i will launch this business should i decide to pursue it without being under anyone's captive wing.

healthchoiceone.com, ihiaa.com, iliaa.org. Between those 3 you can get questions answered about any life and health line. Also of note, Frank on these forums is a highly regarded med supp trainer, Robalino seems a little cocky at first but I believe that guy knows what he's doing on sales. Chumps from Oxford knows his lead companies really well. There are a few more, its funny though after some time goes by you'll notice most answers come from like 10 or 15 people. I would absolutely recommend the IHIAA and HCO for health training, and the advise of those people I named above for whatever they answered but specifically those topics are like their specialties. Hell, I'm not even an ILIAA member, I am planning to join next month once all my bcbst and moo commissions come at start of month but my money is tied up right now (I'm still not in the magical world of renewal land), but their guy answered a bunch of my questions one day almost instantly. Its the people in these organizations that make them useful.

I can also give you answers to questions but I cannot vouch for their veracity. I've been doing this just over a year now, and I've been doing it the right way so to speak for 6 months. My expertise is in video games, more specifically applying the way people cheat in video games to real life. (autoresponder triggers and crm marketing theory) I wouldn't call myself an expert in much anything but I am about 12 months ahead of your learning curve so I can show you the pitfalls along the road, I don't think I missed any of them. I also make snarky comments and share my stats on lead companies, although, quick warning on stats for lead companies they're very regionally specific.

i am willing to hear about any of your advice/experiences. i'm glad i found this forum cause the ones that were pitching me i've learnt through other people's experiences are overpriced and from what they told me and from what the people hear have shared, they've lied to me already about costs and what they don't charge for but people here who've got experience with them say they are charging for the things they say they are not. it all sounds so alluring to hear from them, but to come here and read about people who work this business' experiences, well... not ready to give up my steady employment job just yet and jump in with both feet. i think i'll work this part time as an independent til i build up a little safety net for expenses for life as well as for business first. it's daunting that those with experience have the same questions i do about leads, finding business, closing appointments, etc. i just can't live on a wing and a prayer at this point. i gotta know that i'm going to be able to make it. seems like people even in business for a while still aren't sure about that themselves. not all, but some, and that's scary to me.

"My expertise is in video games"

Ok...Need your help. If you know, what's the best golf DEMO game to download?

Thanks

Lol seriously. For fun, probably just the tiger woods golf if there is a demo available. It's not very realistic though. I miss the old Links and microsoft golf games, they were way more realistic. The wii version of tiger woods with the new attachment makes the swings pretty realistic, but putting is stupid. It also makes me have a hook that I don't have in real life. I tend to hit a slight fade, I think it has something to do with I use a red dot ping i3 blade set with a 1.5 inch extention in the shaft so my swing is adjusted to them in real life. (I got them off ebay for 200 bucks if you wanna be jeleous) I remember someone on here mentioning you were a golfer, I bet its hard to play in Ohio this time of year.

I tell you what i'd do. Specifically in your situation, I'd get appointments for med supp health and life and work leads at night only, my BEST time to call people is 5-7 pm tuesday and thursday nights. Afternoon and weekends are great period. Med supp leads have the highest contact and sell ratios, thats the place to start. You can do them over the phone but you need to be pretty comfortable with it first or you'll lose some money on leads. You can turn them off during work hours, and only accept leads while you're off, and get your feet wet that way cheaply without wasting much money.

I think I remember the links game. It was pretty good. We had a three-hole demo game that also was decent but I deleted it last year (playing the same three holes gets to you after a while).

And actually, my son is the golfer. I'm the tennis player. He was still playing outdoors in November. But he's itching to get back out after having to settle for indoor driving in the Winter. He needs a new set now because of his growth. I miss the days when the junior starter sets were only $150! I'm sure you know what I mean.

God. I bargain shop all my clubs, if I paid out of pocket for my clubs I'd have like 2000 dollars in them. I got a set of wilson deep red 2s for free from a rep I know that USED to work for wilson sporting goods, I think he sells cash registers now, and I got those ping i3s in the correct fitting size because its an obscure size. Finding some for a growing kid would be terribly expensive. We have these stores in tennessee called play it again sports where you can get used clubs of semi-decent quality. I've been trying to track down a set of decent starters for my wife because she swore up and down she'd try to learn if I got them so I could play more often, but still haven't tracked anything down south of 300 dollars. Took me almost a year to find my pings on ebay.

Its funny I play tennis too, but I get too competitive and my wife cant stand playing with me because of it. I always out pase her play by 10% no matter how hard she tries, I just cant stand to lose.. and I was 2nd seat on my high school team because of my ability to serve.. I'm 6'1" and I have a high angle jump serve that comes in at probably 95-105. Like my fall back way to play that I always end up reverting to is that serve and a net rush to volley, and it drives my wife NUTS because she's a casual tennis player, but as soon as I lose a couple points I can't help myself. I was 2nd seat because there was 1 kid that could return my serve well enough and play baseline well enough that I couldn't ever beat him.

For the record tho, that 2010 tiger woods for the wii, is probably the best golf game on the market short of a full simulator system with the cameras and catch net.
