Inflated Lead Claims?

I have read many post on this site that says the rate of return for direct mailers is about 1%. Do the lead offers below seem to exaggerate the returns in order to get business? Can they guarantee leads?

I thought they were inflated, didn't spend any money. I've gotten suckered many times on various products or services, but now I investigate, before spending my money.

Tell them you need 3 references from agents who have ordered multiple times over the past 3 months.

A couple of years ago I ordered telemarketed leads. I had a hard time getting them to honor my order. It was like 1 lead the first week 1 or 2 the second. I called the firm, they said fe leads were hard to get. Finally they did roll in, I didn't order new leads, the wait was to much for me. I made enough to get my money back and expenses, no profit.

Exactly. I would LOVE to get those types of #'s.
