Insurance Website Earning Good Revenue

I put my zip code in. How come i did not get a deep discount here in New Jersey. If they offered a deep discount, the insurance would be Sh##. I know this because I purchase health insurance for my family, and it is not cheap.

I read some of your blog. All I can say is that an insurance agent would probably lose his license if he said what you have to say.

Just a quick update, coverage is the same price, whether purchased online or through an agent. No difference. Why buy through an agent? The can help guide you through the maze of policies and help you in selecting the right one. Have a limited budget? An agent can be your best friend helping explain the tradeoffs that you are looking at making.

From a money making site, you probably are doing pretty well. Do be a bit careful, because the agents on this site are correct, it is highly improper to say 'deeply discounted'. In the context you are using it, it would be unethical for an agent to say this. You are welcome to email me and I'll explain why, but in short, it sends the wrong message, neither agents nor carriers can provide one person a discount over another person without approval from the department of insurance.

One of the benefits to selling insurance is the price is the price is the price. Doesn't matter how you buy it, it's the same price. No negotiating. You negotiate coverages if you need a different price.

.

I understand where you are going with this, and I agree in principle. But there are also underwriting differences across all lines of coverage where the same benefits will result in different prices and other contingencies from carrier to carrier.

Mike may know how to make money but he does not know much about the industry. If he sticks around here long enough he might just learn something.

I was just reading through my thread an noticed that moonlightandmargaritas sure has quite a bit to say and most of it is negative.

Then I started looking through other people's threads and noticed he makes comments, again mostly negative, everywhere.

We should have a contest to guess the number of threads that he has not commented on. I would like to start. My guess is NONE!

Of course...regardless of the state or product, you say consumers will save an average of $364. And I know why...it is 364.com...and it might look silly throwing accurate numbers at consumers.

I like your marketing, but as others have pointed out...honesty is not exactly your most prominent attribute.

The insurance industry has made a living out of advertising "Savings". To single our site out as being dishonest because we use the word "Savings" is a bit silly. How would you try to get new customers by increasing the price.

Mike...not for using the word "savings."

I was referring to the fact that regardless of which type of coverage (life, auto, health) or which state...when you enter your site...you are throwing that same number around.

Maybe they will save $364. Maybe they'll save $864. Maybe they can't. But you haven't checked every product and zip code so you don't know.
