Anyone on here have any experience on insuring their municipality or city (ex: Workers Comp)? What are some things to know about this going in? Any advice and/or experiences would be appreciated.

Very political. Do you have an in?

Dealing with governmental entities can be like wrestling a greased pig. These contracts usually go to political supporters. Even with sealed bids there can be a lot of shenanigans.

Yes and they may have multiple lines with the Muni and get special pricing which would make you look uncompetitive. Plus they have people on the inside looking out for them and back room deals abound. Get ready to get slimy if want a piece of this market...haha. Oh and it helps if your spouse is a lawyer.

For the sake of the thread let's say I do.

What are some good ways to go about landing an account? Typically who votes on these things? Are the bids presented to the mayor? The city council? Both? Just looking to soak up all the knowledge I can from folks who may have been down this road.

It depends, they all handle things differently, it could be the city manager on their own, a risk manager or a city council vote.
