jdeasy said:No. I was away from NAA for more than 2 years before going with EFES.
I did deal with EMG a little after NAA and did not have a good experience. I was mostly doing MA plans. I was the top producer in this region for 3 different companies. That's why I picked up LH for FE. None of those companies had FE or if they did it wasn't a good product.
I had a very plan for duals and I could sell more of them off LH leads than I could their FE. My manager with LH didn't care about that since they didn't have MA plans, {he tried to tell LH after the fact that he didn't know I was doing MA's but he had me meet with his mother for an MA plan}.
The winds of change were blowing for MA plans and how we sell them during the summer and fall of '08 with the MIPPA, {Humana}, rules being implimented in Sept '08. That was going to end my being able to place mA plans from LH leads and I told my upline that I wanted no more leads from them.
I had already contracted with Newby for Forethought that summer and then I contracted with Travis to pick up RNA. After contracting with Travis for RNA we had many conversations about leads. I was doing my own mail by that time and also buying the "press 1" leads. Travis talked to me about goling with the EFES lead program. I did not want to because of my previous experience with EMG. He convinced me that EMG and EFES were different even though they had the same ownership. I talked to people at EFES and they wouldn't talk about EMG.
I'm coming up my 4 year anniversary with EFES at the end of this month. I had previously thought that it was the end of Sept because that's what it says at the EFES site but it turns out that was my contract date with RNA not my contract date to get on the EFES lead program.
I had a very rough start with EFES and I was thinking it was EMG all over again. Travis convinced me to stick it out. I am glad I listened.
I'm not a lifer in this business. I'm only in my 9th year of insurance. Still, I've had many experiences in that time and a lot of trial and error to find my way.
I've been involved with some of the worst IMO's this industry has to offer, Parker and Asses, RBI, in may opinions NAA, etc. and with some of the best, Frank Statsny, JLS, EFES, etc.
Meeting Travis Tubbs and partnering with EFES has been the best things to happen for me in my career. I would add meeting Newby also as a very good thing for my business even though we are competitors.
I don't see us as competitors JD. I see it as you and me against all these trespassers who come to the area and try to sling Foresters and Columbian.
Although when I practically hand deliver you to a door last month that you wrote 4-deals off MY lead card...well a guy usually expects a steak dinner for something like that. Maybe even some dessert.
