Todd I remember you saying you don't really have any idea what you write? Did you manage to implement something to track business?

No, we haven't yet. I do have an idea what we write, but I can't be exactly accurate if I do state how much was written through us. This is also why I didn't state anything definite in the posts of this thread. Between us, 360, and FEX I can't readily say who wrote more.

The only statement I can make that I think is correct is still just a guess. I think we probably wrote more med supp business than either 360, FEX, or EFES.

How would all those stack up against Ritter?

Agree with Spur....money is definitely a big factor for agents with hunger and ambition.

I also think one of the MOST important things an IMO can provide is Trust...it has to be earned. Agents place tremendous trust in their IMO's for certain things like leads, and commissions. IMO's who take this trust lightly risk losing good agents. I'd say the biggest reason agents leave any organization is not always for better commissions...but lack of trust. I personally know a few agents that moved IMO's and took a commission cut because they couldn't trust that IMO.

I completely agree Birdman

I have been in the FE business for 14 years and i always say this when talking to an agent... in my experience a "good" agent leaves where they are at for one of two reasons (usually):

1. they get lied to which happen way too often in this business... the way i was raised by my father was to always do what you say you are going to do

2. a lack of lead volume based on the expectations initially agreed upon... once an agent has enough data with experience in this business they know what their average ratios are from leads to appointments to presentations to sales to average prem per sale... after you know your numbers its just a matter of putting more gas on the fire with leads. this is why I never agree to a number leads per week with an agent until after we do research on our end about how many leads are realistic to pull out of a certain geographical area in regards to historical returns.

I agree, trust is huge. I can't begin to tell you the number of agents who have come to us because they know they can trust us. More than likely they have already been with an IMO that didn't do what they say they'll do. Unfortunately that happens way more than it should.
