Lead Mailers Misleading?

I would like to hear from others experience. My mother in law received one of these leads in the mail and called me to ask what it was. I went over and looked at it. Looks like it came from Lead Connections . Anyhow, it talked about the "senior benefit." It gave her no clue that if she sent the card in, a life insurance salesman would be contacting her. Isn't this misleading? In fact there was nothing on the card about life insurance at all.

My first impression would be
1. something sparked her interest enough to ask you about it, she could have pitched it with the publishers clearing house
2. something is identifying life insurance enough for you to be posting it here

If you're an agent, maybe that was a very subdued way of asking for help. If you're not an agent I'd ask her if she would like to contact one to get more information. You can find one here, facebook, yellow pages.... just about anywhere.

I guess my answer would be, if it got you to the final expense life insurance forum, it's not misleading. Maybe, not over flowing with information..... but not misleading. I'll add that most mail pieces/phone leads are just conversation starters.... again, something peaked her interest enough to bring it up to you.

Best,

It's only misleading to people who have poor reading comprehension skills.

Which is the majority of our market.

A majority of people who send back these cards are not interested in ways to affordably relieve the burden of burial costs from their loved ones.

Those are called prospects,

I can see the confusion. Prior to Obama buying the last two elections no one would have thought it was about free money with the gov just looking for people to take it. Now it's the first thing that comes to your mind, isn't it? ha

Our Supreme Leader will take care of you!

Its double plus good dont cha know. You also get a free upgrade of 2 choco credits with each card sent back in:D

Same problem here. Some people seriously think it's a government handout. Fortunately for us, those are the few, the not-so-proud.... the tards. "We do less before 9am than most people do.... aw, screw it... time for my nap."

Send someone one Chris's cards that don't use the words "life insurance" and 20% will complain that they feel deceived.

Send someone a Main Street Power Mail card that uses the words "life insurance" and 20% of people will complain that they would never want life insurance, but want a final expense or burial policy.

I gotta crazy idea! How 'bout you and I get together to do a mailing! The card will have 3 checkboxes. Check here if you would like more info on 'life insurance'. Check here if you would like more info on 'final expense' insurance. Check here if you would like more info on burial/funeral insurance.
