Lead Mailers Misleading?

For the small and I repeat small investment of 199 dollars a yr I will say nice things about you. ......Hainey Business Bureau

I don't get the sense he is pushing the BBB. I kinda agree with what he says. It's really not about us, but rather the consumer perception.

I wish I never used BBB as an example. I couldn't find the article about the Conn. Attorney General's office. In that one, the whole town thought it was an agent trying to steal SS info...from those mailers:D

I guess I will keep my flytrap shut:yes:

My point exactly.

BBB, AARP, AM Best, Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, etc.

Any of them can help you if your prospect believes in them. Otherwise they are meaningless.

Next time you across a sale in FE that you lost because of the BBB just send them to me. I'll take care of it.

I have personally been shaken down by the bbb twice. Every time they call one of my businesses they go into a hard core sales presentation to get us to pay the fee.

I have come to the conclusion that pretty much and consumer protection or rating agency is a scam.

That is my conclusion also.

I have had maybe 3 people over the past 5 years ask me why we aren't a part of the bbb. My response was simply I don't believe our approval as a business should be decided by a logo that is paid for.

If they wanted to be fully transparent they should let everybody know their seal of approval is paid for.

The BBB is a way for a new business to try to gain instant credibility. With that said I would save my money if I struggle financially. If you are well known in a community it is probably unnecessary expense.
