I couldn't agree with this post more. You can generate your own leads in much the same way these lead services are through marketing on the net, and making yourself visable in the right place on-line. this way you do not have to share leads, and you are positioned much better throughout the sale.

Even the "low-tech" ways work. I recently did my quarterly post-card mailing. My return so far: $52 in commission for every $1 spent. Pretty good return.

Can you give us some more details regarding your mailing? Where did you get your list? What did you sell? What was your pitch?

I think that there is an issue that is almost as significant as exclusivity. That is the issue of branding. When someone visits your website or responds to your post card, they expect YOU to call. This makes it a little easier to close the case.

Yes, I agree...

Really nothing too fancy - just another form of "drip marketing" to a list of folks who buy individual health insurance. I send a postcard four times a year, they cost me .292 each including postage.

I include a testimonial, along with the fact the my new clients enjoys average annual savings of $842.

They can respond either by phone, or through my website. 85% respond by web.
 
That's a bad sign... that whole goat porn thing (which I have NOT corroborated BTW).

Ahhh, the never ending quest for value. "If a job's worth doin its worth doin right"; as the adage goes. Often that means us because we know our niche and our personal likes so much better than a "stranger." It seems it is a quality lead dollar thing again with Tom's company. How many quality leads are generated then subsequently closed for that $500 seat? Close on 10 leads its $50 per lead.

Our call agents close between 6-9 appointments a day, which end of the spectrum really depends upon your product. If you have a good product at a good price, you'll get more appointments. As our agents become more familiar with your product; they’ll get more appointments.

I’ve noticed people saying they can do the same thing them selves; true! Absolutely true, however this product is designed to help you grow your business. With our call center setting appointments, and you working your normal efforts, further if you introduce direct mail into the fray, you now have an entirely new dimension to your business and have done so quite affordably.

We conduct and/or provide data for direct mail services. Give me a call and I'll discuss with you how we get the direct mail respondents for insurance purposes.

Lastly, to address the goat porn; what can I say other than I apologize. We set up the forums as a place to discuss in the open the intricacies of direct marketing, scripting, and sales copy. I did not stay as recent as I should with PHPBB updates and patching, nor did I purchase patches and other products to deflect the bots. My efforts were focused in our call center.

Tom...I appreciate your candor, but I think you handled the goat porn situation the wrong way.

To rectify the situation, please reinstate the goat porn forum.

And I might add, I was very reluctant to use "goat porn" and "rectify" in the same sentence!!!
 
they appeared to be the Georgia billie goat, widely considered to be the least docile and filthiest goat in the US.

But as you may (or may not) know....the Connecticut husky goat is considered one of the most lovable and kind goats in the world.

The goats may not be much to look at, but the sheep are something else . . .
 
I just love agents these days! So many people think that they can get something virtually free and make thousands on it.

No one wants to spend money on $30+ leads, no one wants to spend $500 per week on something that could generate some revenue (note, I do not recommend this ‘telemarketing idea’), oh and no one really wants to "work" to call their purchased leads 3 times the first day they receive the lead and accumulate a total “touch value” of around 15 - 20. Stop thinking that you can find amazing leads for under $20, hardly "work them", and get the result that you are truly looking for.

Hey guys ... there are two words out there that sum up your path to (amazing virtually free leads without doing much to close the sale) and those two words are "fantasy and reality" ... wake up! Thinking that you can find a brand new Mercedes for under $15K OR purchase a Ford Focus expecting the interior of a $100K Mercedes (get my analogy) is ludicrous - and if you really think that you can find leads that are under priced and QUALITY, remember what your mama told you "you get what you paid for."

Oh and if this post angers you …well that is the feeling of conviction! LOL
