Lets Get to Some Facts About Telesales

I sold term life for Met Life in a call center and I agree---it's not for everyone. The veteran agents who tried---mostly failed. The top agent was a newly licensed agent of less than one year. They don't know what they don't know and always asked for the sale.
That particular job paid $17 an hour plus bonuses for policies hit. No chargebacks either. I left when they changed the pay structure to a less favorable one (plus I moved back to Panama City Beach).
All final expense stuff was transferred to Gerber agents.
I never failed to get a prospect's banking information---not even once. If they trust you, they will give that up with no problem.
All that said, I had to transfer a ton of calls to Gerber and these were people who were ready to buy on the spot but didn't qualify for Met Life. This indicates to me that selling FE over the phone is not only feasible, it might potentially become the way to do it.
If only more companies would offer this option (such as RNA, Monumental, etc etc etc). I have Standard but they are not really competitive but I need to dig deeper to see if the phone sales aspect is viable enough to start a phone campaign with SLAICO.

The key aspect of an operation is control and accountability. The main point of FE telesales will evolve around doing it in that a environment with a lot of "nip it in the bud" management. The successfull operations are done on a bigger scale with larger budgets like you witnessed with Met Life. The turnover is very high, just like field agents are. The big problem lies in persistency. Some will adjust with volume and keep those agents that have good ratios.

The big question will be about how an agent can survive doing it without the controlled environment. (Ie the underwear and I don't care agents) :skeptical:

RNA does allow the SIWL to be sold over the phone by the way.

? Do you mean like all over the phone or do you still have to have a signature? Because I am constantly on them to develop a phone app and they are not interested. Please explain. Thanks.

You still have to send the app back to the client to be signed. The company is not designed to be a call house for telesales agents. The independent agent can take advantage of a great product while offering it to them and sold to them over the phone for those that are too far away to be seen.

The only way to get facts about FE telesales is to talk to telesales agents, not marketers for telesales.

What do you think the marketer is going to say about it?

I agree that we need to hear from an agent that is actually doing it. So far none of them are willing to share their experience on this forum. That has me thinking though. We don't have any agents on here saying they failed at Senior Life telesales either...

Oh yes, there has been plenty of them. There is a thread in the senior forum where some have posted. But there have been many others.

Now that you say that, wasn't there a few forum members that got a law suit threatened for bashing them? Well, one of these days maybe we will here from one of these mysterious agents.

I don't know one way or the other if FE tele sales works but it is hard to believe that if it does work that the success stories from agents aren't making it on to the forum. Like I said before, that would be the best recruiting tool for a SL marketer....
