Lincoln Heritage 100% Contracts

This is the response I got from my manager when I requested a release: "You can call the carriers and try and work something out, but I do not release people who I have trained." EFES may say they will give a release, but...

I would have them on speed dial. You want me? You got me 24/7. Every little problem I or my clients have. Clients would have their name, phone number and email also.

Post their name. Save another agent.

Cut him a check for the training then. Training isn't "free". Pay with money or pay with production.

He got more than enough overrides. Chase screwed things up early due to a bad assumption on his part and things never did recover. But, my first month's worth of leads, I wrote over 12K AP.

Unless they have changed their stance which I doubt they have, EFES will NOT release an agent.

Of course. And this is true of all non-captive situations. But you can't write the carriers you contracted using EFES without waiting 6 months.

So the release is a non-issue because EFES does not release and does not inform the agent of this up front.

So they're as dishonest about it as Parker, Bob Bever, and all the other FMOs we should stay away from.

I'm surprised you are discounting this issue. Because of this non-release, clearly EFES should be avoided. Why would an agent want to work with a dishonest marketer?

Part of their (uplines)cost of doing business. I get very little from many of my uplines. Mainly because I ask for very little. I left John Hancock after 1 1/2 years and a lot of training. I would have laughed at them if they sent me a bill.

Yeah, we're on the same page. Since we know they won't release, it's a non-issue.

Don't go with them unless it's a non-issue.

Otherwise, I would find someone else to work with.

I haven't received your check for the Medicare training yet.

I cashed it for you. Thanks.

As I recall, you split business with your mentor 50/50. You paid for your training. And you know I'm not talking about experienced agents who are jut looking for a contract. How many people have you seen pop on where the ink isn't even dry on their license and are demanding top contracts, cheap leads, up-front release and training?

I hear you. One of the reasons I do not recruit or train. However, it is part of the gig. I do not expect my upline to send me a check each month for not calling them.

Some of these IMOs act like serfdom is the norm. Six months of training and a lifetime of servitude if you want to use those carriers?

An agent would be crazy to put all their contracts with one IMO. IMHO But then again, I do not play well with others. :nah:

EFES will not grant releases from the companies you are contracted with under them. They won't even tell you that they will.

Even if Travis were to grant you a release then EFES would step in.

Not releasing agents is wrong. But it's how this industry works. It's a dirty secret agreement between the IMO's and the companies. It's not in your contract or mine but they will still enforce something on you that you never agreed to.

It's really not a big deal for life ins. There's enough companies out there to write to not cause many problems waiting out your release.

With med sups it's a bigger issue and even moreso for MA plans.

Frank Statsny was as good a man as I've ever dealt with. He offered releases. I was going to move one of my companies I had under Frank to another IMO. Frank gave me a release just as he said he would. His upline wouldn't allow it. I still had to wait out 6 months.

I believe an agent could take it to court and win but by the time you won the time would have passed anyway. The companies and IMO's all know that so they just keep doing it.

We agree. I do not get what the IMO gets out of not releasing. Assuming you do not owe them money. That changes everything.
