Lincoln Heritage 100% Contracts

We agree. I do not get what the IMO gets out of not releasing. Assuming you do not owe them money. That changes everything.

JMO, only two reasons to refuse a release.

1. Training and/or leads were provided and now as soon as the person figures out how to sell they jump ship.
2. Debt balance.

Otherwise, "Set my people free!"

I agree....If I want to move my contract I just don't produce for 6 months so the carrier actually loses as I have to put the business with thier competitor.

Yep, if the agent has a chargeback or lead balance that different scenario... If no balance exist, then it is simply a control and power issue that IMO wants.

So, a new agent comes in and you train him, you should not be able to put a reasonable expectation of how long you may receive production from him in order to compensate you for your efforts? You should reelase him and let him go into competition with you not only using the benefit of your training but do it with the same company that you taught him about?

Then make that part of the conversation. Look new agent I am going to train you, it takes time from me being out in the field. Due to that you will have this lower commission level and I do not plan on allowing a release until you hit this production level.

One of the many reasons I don't recruit I only need to worry about my production.

Eternity is not a reasonable expectation (except in regards to my salvation through Jesus Christ!)

I think the biggest point is the amount of money the IMO will loose if you are asking for a release on a particular company the odds are you will write business with the company you are asking the release from . The override they loose out on is ridiculous especially on MA. Is it wrong IMO yes but on a financial stand point I can see why they don't want too or won't in many cases
