It definately depends on your GA. I work L.A. and door knock and close 22% and the letters they send ahead of me definately help. I have confidence I can write in almost any situation I come across.

Just started with them. It's going to take a couple of months to get a good sample but their leads seem fine to me. I will usually contact the customer by phone and because LH sends out the letter beforehand the client is usually very easy to deal with and happy to hear from me. The way I prefer to do it is take the application over the phone and then mail it out. I will schedule a time to come pick up the application after they have signed it. The TV leads seem far better than the postcard leads but again I don't have a large enough sample to go on. Most of the policies are FE in the $5,000-$10,000 range. I will post again in a few months and let you know how it is going.

I am with the other agents on this forum. LH rates are much higher than any of the FE carriers I represent. I got some contracting information from them last year not only were their rates very high their percentage on renewal compensation is terrible. I believe I am right in saying that if you contract with them you can still sell for other FE carriers.

A friend of mine went to a Funeral Consumer Guardian Society meeting in Little Rock a month or so ago. He said people gave testimonials as to how the FCGS handled their loved ones funerals and were very pleased with the service they received.

I've been in the biz for a little over 20yrs. I was writing mostly auto insurance and some life insurance on the side for the last 6 years making 70k a year until the company closed their offices in CA and I was laid off and now on unemployment.
I use to be a debit agent with United Insurance & American National late 80's and late 90's door to door sales and collecting premiums. I sold the paid up WL and small term plans ages 0 to 85 ... I did real good at it. An acquaintance of mine has been working with LH for 6 months now but he stretches the truth a bit, he said TV leads $38 and mail leads are $25 TV leads a bit much. I'm going to go out with him next week and sit in.
To me it sounds like old fashion back in the day life insurance sales, like what I did working in the debit but no collecting premiums. I don't want to be in debt to LH so is it better for me to go as earn commission or buy the leads through LH? I read on the forum people owing and if you leave in 2yrs you will owe and a few other horror stories.
Also was looking at Standard Life & Accident, what you think? You LH guys are the experts, what direction should I go? I really appreciate you taking the time out and reading this.

Do you intend to specialize in final expense?
Can you generate your own prospects without their lead program?.
If you are going to concentrate on FE, before you make a decision on LH you might want to hear what jdeasy and some of the other FE specialists have to say.
Search the forum, there are plenty of IMO's that can sell you leads and you would have an assortment of carriers to sell. I would imagine only having one in your bag would out you at a disadvantage.
The best thing you can do if you are interested in Final Expense is to read this forum top to bottom. Literally spend a day doing it. It will be worth it.
