Look for the "Escape Hatch" W/SCOTUS

HouCoogster, it saddens me to learn Senator Grassley is not firing on all cylinders.

""According to Brill, when he asked Grassley about King, the senator initially "didn't even know what the suit was about." Once Brill explained the suit to Grassley, the senator responded "oh, that's ridiculous. We obviously meant that the subsidies would go to the federal exchange and not just the state exchange," according to Brill.""

OMG..Two Red Flags from just one paragraph.

1. Grassley didn't know about the FFM Subsidy Lawsuit until recently.
(I bet he gets called for jury duty often!)

2. He proclaims that in helping to craft the ACA, he "obviously" meant that subsidies should be moved through the Federal Exchange, as well as the State Exchanges. The problem with this assertion is that there was no Federal Exchange when the Affordable Care Act was crafted. The Federal Exchange was created after most states decided not to set up their own Exchange.

So... ObamaCare is made in the image of Grassley and those who think like him? That explains a lot!
:D

Good take AC!

However you're missing my take in the minutia of details. I think you need to hear what Grassley is saying to the larger point of this Law from a seasoned well connected Senior Republican. So in other words if he thinks this way who else in his party thinks this way? I say a whole bunch of 'em.

Ahhh, all of these articles have the public media machine going full bore. They don't seem to actually relate to the case, but they are being spun in such a way as they do.

People are trying to read tea leaves in a cup that has never had tea in it.

Just pass it. You can read it later. Where have I heard this before?

Some Republicans will come up with some plan to gut Obamacare that the Obama administration could never accept. The Obama administration will ask Republicans to simply fix the law, which they'll never do. The two sides will blame each other just as always happens, and their attached partisans will think their side has the better of the argument, just as always happens. We have seen this movie before.

In the end, some red states will end up building their own exchanges, just as some red states have accepted the Medicaid expansion. Some red states will hold out, at least for a few more years. America will develop a two-tier health-care system, in which blue states that participate in Obamacare are subsidized by red states that don't.

One thing is for sure...if Boehner can't hold his caucus together enough to pass Homeland Security funding, this Congress will be as ineffectual as the last 2. I don't care what Hatch and Alexander come up with. It won't get through.

What a mess.
