Mandate Upheld!Get Ready to RUMMMMMMBLE !

Re: Mandate Upheld!

As the market narrows to the "big three" it'll become more interesting for agents. If MD residents only have a choice between BX, UHC and Aetna, that's a pretty large natural market. That said, I still believe they'll be offering compensation.

I'm sure that compensation will be fair and sustainable (more sarcasm). When you have the two most powerful players wanting the power and control, agents don't have a fighting chance. Good luck to California agents. Perhaps Peter Lee will save us.

More specifically on Roberts!

Totally agree with you!

OBAMA just said that thanks to the Supreme Court decision, "Insurance Companies will no longer be able to bill you into bankruptcy".

Insurance companies don't bill people into bankruptcy! The over-priced physicians, hospitals and medications are what causes bankruptcy.

There were a lot of agents in the individual market who didn't prepare when the MRL legislation was passed.

As few good friends of mine got caught with their pants down and had a very, very rough time financially.

We do not know about compensation come 2014, but if you're currently in the individual market, you're a fool to not come up with a viable plan B.

I'm not surprised at all. Dd you not ever observe how cutys and smily Roberts would get when he got around Obama? They are totally n love with each other.

Roberts was the one who looked angrily at President Obama during his 2010 State of the Union address after he chided the Supreme Court for not doing something the right way.

If Romney doesn't pick the right VP, or make himself more "electable" somehow, we'll have four more years of the Obama administration.

I'm quite nervous. Never before in the history of our nation has the government mandated that every citizen purchase a product. If not stuck down it has dire consequences. In theory, the government could require that we purchase any product or service.

To deal directly with health care, there are no cost control measures built in. If I'm 400%+ FLP am I going to be required to pay $1,000 a month? How 'bout 10 years from now - $2,500 a month?

If my family was in MA, the cheapest policy would be just over $1,000. I pay just under $400 now - so $600 per month more. Basically, a Benz payment that goes up every year.

You can opt out and to do so , the penalty is $90. The IRS is the enforcng agency. However, the IRS is not allowed liens or garnshments. All the IRS can do is take the $90 out of any tax that is due.

Entirely possible. Otherwise you could buy health insurance in December then cancel in January and avoid paying the non-compliance tax.

SCOTUS gave states an out on Medicaid expansion. Even though Obamacare provides coverage for the poor, if the states don't have a program for you, then what?

You are still without your "free" health insurance.
So we send in our proof of insurance with our tax return? I get nervous whenever thr IRS gets involved...

Obama just said if you can afford to pay for health insurance, you should purchase health insurance.....

Ok fat cat politicians & bureaucrats step up and start paying the full amount of the premiums..
