I don't think the consumer understands MLR so I can't see that happening. I agree with you Rick should just move outa state, maybe Colorado or NY he should get along with the libs...

You clearly don't understand the effect of Obamacare on insurance companies. By dictating benefits and making this all GI, they are forced to reduce their reimbursement to doctors. This has caused narrow networks.

So yes, I blame the democrats for this. It was their government that screwed us.

In order to keep insurance affordable, people are forced into plans with limited networks. The only plan that allows people to go to Cedars Sinai hospital is the bronze level of Health Net. $5K deductible. How is that improving healthcare?

Seriously, you think a plan that works for only a small percentage of the population is a good thing. And a idiotic suggestion of using a credit card to avoid dying in a crappy hospital isn't particularly brilliant of you.

Either you're trying to be our old friend from Sacramento just to cause trouble, or you're out of your mind.

You might think it's funny that people (including my son) can't access the better facilities, but I don't His old plan was 1/2 the price and had 2/3 the out of pocket. He could go damn near anywhere. Now he pays much more for a very limited network which is the same both in and out of the exchange. If it was your son, would you be happy?

Cedars has always been known for catering to the west coast elite.
They have enough cash paying and other paying customers so they don't have to accept the lower reimbursements. Things were getting out of control that's why something had to be done. Do you want to go back to underwritten plans? Declines? Rate-ups? Riders?
Did you not check the network before you purchased this plan?
I'm kinda shocked they accept the Bronze plan?? How can the reimbursement rates be any higher for the bronze than that of the silver or gold for that matter?

Is it better to plan for heart problems to access Cedars (or UCLA) or plan for cancer so you can go to City of Hope. There is no plan that allows for both of them - thank you Obamacare.

By the way, I had intestinal surgery at Cedars. Not because I was a "West Coast Elite" but it's where the doctor I chose could work from. Maybe it would have been better to go another hospital where they use a more invasive procedure. Oh the good old days when we had a choice.

So city of hope is the only cancer center there? So if somebody gets cancer with these plans will just die? BS I ain't buying it. I had a client come down with prostrate cancer he had a blue HMO you probably don't know what that is. Well it was the bronze and MD Anderson was not in the network obviously but guess what....they took him with that plan and he is currently being treated.

Yeah there are some quirks with it and there will be pockets of problems but in time it will get ironed out.

In the meantime use some of the connections you have out there and get your son a job...if ya know whatimean

Hey I just had a terrific idea... sell the plan that includes Cedars & UCLA and then sell them a cancer plan so they can go to City of Hope.
