Hey guys,

I have a woman who is taking megastrol because she has such a low appetite. No history of cancer or AIDS which are the two conditions this drug is typically used for.

So far, all carriers I've looked at have this drug flagged for an auto decline.

Anyone know of a carrier that will accept this drug?

Thanks

Looking at the Royal Neighbors Rx guide, that medication does not show up. As long as she can answer no to that health question you should be fine. Also, you could try Americo. Their Ultra Protector rx guide only mentions AIDS and cancer issues. So just make sure to mention that medication and reason in the notes on the ultra protector app and you should be good. America Eagle doesn't do an official rx guide anymore. Again, if she can answer no to all health questions, she should be good to go. Good luck!

Thanks man.

I called RNA and this drug is on their decline list. They have an internal drug list that includes more drugs than what's listed on the agent drug guide. I wish carriers didn't do this, but they do.

I'll check on UP with Americo. Eagle does have very extensive drug guide, and it shows this drug as a flat decline. I attached it for you :)

Thats the guide from 2014. Eagle has changed their underwriting. I just got to meet Bobby, one of their reps and they no longer have an official underwriting guide for the Eagle product. It's all based on a scoring system of sorts. Each medication has a point value, and once you get so many points, Eagle will kick it out. It's all done through an automated system.

Oh didn't know that. Thanks!

Probably a while, if ever. He's a company man at Americo for, what, the last 6 years and then close to that many at Equita before that.

On to the subject at hand, Trinity is the place to go for this. Call up the UWs and explain the issue and it should fly through.

He hasn't been at Americo that long.

Bobby is a good dude. And a hellova singer!! But getting advice on writing business from someone like that is akin to getting advice on the finer points of dunking a basketball from Peter Dinkledge. :D
