Hi I am leaving a captive agency to go out on my own as a FE broker. I was contacted by Merrill after some discussion and a request for info by me, they called me back and said that someone else had my area and they want me to go through them. They suggested I become a part of the other person's team. How does this sound to you? Does anyone know anything about Merrill? It may be a good idea as I am a total newbie to the FE business. Any thoughts?

A poster on here recently joined them, Mah, it'd be good to have her share her experience with them so far.
I will give my standard Shannon response: He is a great guy and knows the business inside and out, he is on fire for Jesus, but that did not effect our relationship when I worked with him.
I would be hesitant to have another hand in the cookie jar between myself and MIG, but that all depends on what contract level you are being offered, and how the agent underneath Shannon has things set up.

Shannon is one of 3 RD's for EFES. I don't understand the someone else area story unless they are talking another RD.
What state are you in? That might help to explain.

I believe you are getting the runaround. If you want to contract with MIG then tell them you will only do so direct to Shannon.
Unless this other person will give more direct training that you say you need.
Toby here at the forums is with EFES under Shannon and he is in Ca.
