Midyear-2008 Lead Company Update

In fairness to this company which I have never heard of it could be an affiliate or other advertiser.

To continue the education regarding Pay Per Click, the DISPLAY URL you see does NOT have to be the actual URL the customer goes to.

Try typing that URL into your address bar. It goes no where.

So without definitive proof that a company is doing something like that maliciously I would give them the benefit of the doubt first.

And again, if you ever catch OUR affiliates doing something like that please do not hesitate to contact me. To quote Jerry Maguire...help us help you

First its not an affiliate, It proves to others the Discussion we were having about Benepath. So Please just read, you dont have to push your company on here, How about responding to your Company's Top Keywords that I posted Believe you me, HTQ is far from being a superior Lead Company.

What a joke! I wonder if Benepath does that with other staes as well?

What's next?...

Get health insurance for just 25 cents per month. No frills, no paperwork and no claims paid. Click on the link and apply now!

Look Out Chumps---Me and You will start getting emails, demanding us to remove our Post,(Our Buddy Clelland) but I wanted to post, to prove that Benepath is not the Premiere Lead Source that everyone thinks they are!!!

Did you invite the HTQ Guru? Just what we need another Vendor exposing themselves.

I think it can be helpful to get their take, provided they aren't just shamelessly promoting their wares. A good deal sells itself.

What strikes me if that the HTQ gentleman keeps ducking the ehealth question...Chumps has asked more than once...

Is it "off limits" for some reason???

Because he knows the Real answer to the Question. Also why has he not responded to my Keyword question. HTQ in my opinion is one of the Worse Vendors for health Insurance Leads. Affliates running wild, they started out being a primary P&C lead vendor, you can tell by the Keywords they still use and get the most traffic from.

Hi Everyone,

Let me first say that the ad in question was run during a test that ended in May in our biggest campaign and is only running as a continued test in a few much smaller campaigns.

The ad stopped running, not because of complaints from agents saying they had noticed a drop in lead quality (something we would immediately respond to), but because it did not outperform the control ad.

As to this type of advertising copy only attracting poor people, I'm just guessing that if you have an issue with the ad you don't like to save money???

The fact is, people at all income levels like to get a good rate when it comes to insurance. Unlike most of my competitors, I've actually sat across the kitchen table and sold life, health, disability insurance, mutual funds, etc. I had a lot of successful people as clients, and I have never had a single wealthy customer who did not want a cheap insurance rate. NEVER.

As to the data, this ad did not change any of our metrics -
* the median and mean age of our leads did not change (the median age is 39)
* the female/male ratio did not change
* the single/family ratio did not change
* the location of the leads did not change

So, its easy to make assumptions, but the reality is, this ad did not bring in a bunch of poor people.

Further, we did not receive any negative feedback from our customers when we ran the primary test.

Finally, this ad represents less than 2% of the overall impressions we get on Google, Yahoo and MSN today.
We are committed to quality and to delivering a quality search based lead. We listen to our customers, and if they tell us there is a problem, we take it seriously, investigate and make changes where we can.

This ad was never an issue for our customers and did not impact our lead quality at all.

Please note I said COULD be. The poster named healthagent was thankful for some information regarding online marketing that I provided on here. Just trying to help bro, no need to get confrontational. I have no interest in the other company...never heard of them until this thread.

Not sure what keywords you are referring to in bold above, but I am more than happy to answer your questions if they pertain to my realm here.

Again, I am just trying to clear up any misconceptions and help as it appears I have with some other posters. Your experience is obviously an isolated one compared to those who have had great experiences. I believe that numbers speak for themselves. Our retention is higher than any of our top competitors. Do we retain 100% of our agents? Of course not. But it is the highest.

I have addressed this above in this thread or another. I am not entirely sure I understand it as it is our of my realm here, but I am interested to find out more myself.

My contact information is below if anyone feels the need to contact me off-board.

Thanks!

Not sure where you find that considering that health was our highest volume line at the beginning of the year. ;)

Naturally auto is going to the highest over time because well everyone adult has a car and the law says you have to have insurance.

Health is next followed by homeowners and life. Our lead volume reflects the shopping patterns of American consumers, not any intentional marketing strategy.

I believe in Q1 of this year, almost 50% of our volume was health and life leads.

How about responding to your Company's Top Keywords that I posted Believe you me, HTQ is far from being a superior Lead Company.

Just wanted you to know my offer still stands to address this question. However I reviewed this thread thoroughly and found no question for me to respond to, so I am not sure that I understand your beef.

I am more than happy (as should be obvious by now) to reply, but I am not sure to what I am to reply. ;)

Also, I am 100% positive you can easily find some random example of any company bidding on a keyword of which you don't approve.

This is EASY to do with Broad Match on Google, Yahoo, and MSN. If I bid on the keyword "health insurance quotes" and broad match it, we will probably use negative keywords such as: "cheapest," "medicare," "medicaid," etc.

However if you find us listed for "bran muffin health insurance quotes" it is not because we are BIDDING on "bran muffin health insurance quotes"

There are thousands...no millions of possible negative keywords. I think Google allows like 100 per campaign. You can do the math and figure something is getting left out.

So, providing examples of search terms that are searched 7 times a day nationwide that DO have legit keyword strings in them does no good. Statistically, those keywords are likely to produce about 1 lead every 3 years. At our volume, that is not even going to be a BLIP on the radar.

And if results in a bad lead, send it back to us and we will refund your money. Odds are such obscure keywords did not cost us a whole lot of money anyway.

This is somewhat high-level knowledge of the PPC game. I suppose I take for granted that everyone knows these things, which is my fault. That would be like assuming I know the underwriting guidelines for XYZ company :twitchy: when I obviously do not.

I hope this information helps. Feel free to ask me anything else.

By the way, I spoke with a very nice agent today on the phone who called regarding this thread. I won't mention his name on here, but he was a delight to talk to and I hope that my information was helpful.
