Monumental Direct Mail Drop

Wow, who would have thought!!! I sure hope that most of the EFES business isn't going to AMERICO... dem guys r expensive.... wshew!:nah:

They put more business with Americo than any other carrier. Americo is not too bad. Their niche is smokers and especially pipe, cigar and smokeless tobacco users but their non smoker rates are competitive.

The deal they have with renewals with EFES is the killer for me.

True on that but what companies would you need that RNA doesn't have? Only one I can think of is 5 Star. I've been trying to get EFES to pick them up for 2 or 3 years now.

5 Star apparently doesn't want that much business?

JD, what niche would u use 5Star for? I've seen their rates, a notch above RNA, and smoker rates are terrible... So when would u use them? Thx

Well they take credit cards for one. Their rates are close to RNAs. Plus they have a lead credit program. Not that that matters to you guys.

It's a good question though. Newby? JD?

Main thing is credit and debit cards. They will also do direct monthly bill. Their non smoker rates are close to RNA and sometimes I put an RNA decline with them. RNA usually declines over meds. That's not an issue with 5 Star.

You're right about the smoker rates. They are terrible. I was talking to Newby about that yesterday. It's odd that they would be so high for smokers when they will do non tobacco for smokeless tobacco users.

If Americo starts taking the Direct Express cards as they say they are going to then I wouldn't use S Star much at all.

You guys said it perfect, if Americo decides to take that card...it will be a tough stand for 5 star. I'm a big fan of 5 star personally, but they can't compete with smoker rates with Americo.

however, 5 star lead rebate program is very helpful if you write consistent business with them. 5% AP rebate each month in the form of a lead voucher when you exceed 6500. Example....$10,000AP = $500 lead voucher. Oh and this is a lead voucher, so you're not taxed on it...if you don't use it in 60 days it will expire.

GPM has a nice lead incentive too, $40/app for 5 or more apps per month with no cap....this however is a cash bonus, so they tax it as income on your commission statement.

I think AmCont has a tiered program going now as well....I'm not as familiar with that one.

Thx for this info....but not getting renewals from Americo & that stupid 65+ notice they have here for Calif residents is making Americo my 3rd choice at best! 5Star sounds good!

I just got set up with Americo and I received an email talking about that. Leave it to California to have a rule like that. TDF which carriers do you use mostly?

Just another signature. Well unless you forget the stink'n form and have to drive 30 minutes to get it signed, this morning.:arghh:

I know I've only been at this for a few weeks, but after 15 or so policies, I have yet to have someone ask what they were signing. Heck, I didn't know what they were signing the first few times.

Like JD said in another thread, "Sign here, here and here (and one more here for y'all in CA)."

RNA & Monu, with Americo a distant 3rd.

But you're not in calif right.... It's a form specific for this state. Americo is the only 1 requiring a signature on it tho.
