Monumental DM Program..

I get there's no such thing as a perfect lead card...but that one just had 2 words that made me cringe. "FREE SERVICE"..and it was listed twice. Always funny how people can overlook the word insurance even if it's listed a hundred times on the lead card, and yet still think it's about social security when you call them , or in this case,,,,a FREE SERVICE that will pay for their funeral FOR FREE by the gubment.

I'll prob use it anyways :twitchy:

I've used MonLife mail leads recently. Seems fine.

They MAY resell them down the road. It seems like any that I don't close (and some that I do) call me a few months later when another Monumental agent is on them.

Had one lady with the worst case of COPD I've ever seen or heard that I quoted standard but didn't close. When I followed up she had been sold and issued prefered by another MonLife agent. The lady had a plug in nebulizer (borrowed from a friend.)

Yeah, I'd be pretty concerned if I bought a lead mailer to find out that they re-sold those same leads to someone else. There's a big marketing outfit out there doing the same thing to agents.. what was their name again?

Anyway, I'd rather pay full boat and keep those to work over time. Sometimes they don't close right away.

Another possibility is that these people are habitual responders- they send in each and EVERY mail drop piece they see because they're lonely, etc. It's possible that someone came behind and had another piece that the lady responded to... I guess.

That's what the mail house will say to you.

Seems odd that they would re-sell a lead that was already closed? It would be tough to replace one MonLife product w/ another. I'd hate to be the agent buying that lead!

So are you saying that a "captive" Monumental agent sold them preferred when you could only offer standard? If so, then that would make me hesitant to do a mail drop through them unless the drop was free!

No the COPD lady was sold by an independent FE agent. He just tried to slip her through and was successful.

I had a captive Monumental agent that was replacing my $15,000 pref rate FE policy with his $12,000 fully underwritten at a slightly higher premium than mine. He convinced her that the FE policies would never pay the claim if she died in the 1st two years even though she could clearly answer all the health questions no.

I saved that one. I don't know that the Monumental leads get reused. The people DO send in a lot of cards.

I can't understand Monumental's policy of allowing a policy to be internally replaced unless it is a better deal for the client. I guess it just certifies the cut-throat like mentality that exists not only between agents and IMO's (by not offering releases...asses that deserve a punch in the nose) and the carrier themselves.

Monumental doesn't allow it. The agent did not do replacement forms.

Monumental is one of the better companies in FE in my opinion. I like their lead program but the only question I have is whether they re-use the leads several months later.

If I was a betting man I would have to go with yes they do. What reason would they not have to use them. It's a lead sitting there in which a person didn't buy so hey why not is good enough reason for them to do so. Seems logical to me.

Also if the agent used a Monumental lead to sell a different brand of insurance it would show as no sale to Monumental.
