Motorists FE Policy... Hmm...

I am no fan of Foresters. I very rarely write Foresters. Not because they are a fraternal. There is enough to not like about them without resorting to scare tactics.

Just pulling your chain a little.. I saw what you had said on the other thread about Foresters.. I don't think scare tactics need to be used but, in my mind making sure the client knows the language in the contract is not a scare tactic anymore than pointing out a term policy might expire before they do when trying to convince them to go with WL.

In the end, if the agent selling the fraternal plan would explain the assessment process to the client when they sold it, then an agent following along behind them couldn't use it as a scare tactic.

I sold Toyotas for 14 years. I sold them because they are American made; Georgetown, Kentucky

"Assembled there, not made there. Still not an American company."

What is the difference betweeen assembled and made? And for the record the Toyota Camy, made in Georgetown has the highest domestic content of any car made in the USA, period. Impalas and Taurus's have very little domestic content compared to a Camry or an Accord.

GM makes cars in Mexico, Canada and Brazil. What about those profits? Oh wait a minute everybody knows when Obama motors sells cars they don't expect to make any money. The real money is made when they have to be returned for parts and service, which is far mor frequent than it should be. Of course that is why their world market share has droppped from 51 to less than 20% over the last 20 years.

JDeasy what do you drive? Let me guess a Royal Enfield!

And I bet it has lots of nice benefits I mean options, sorry!

I sold Toyota's too for 2yrs & I can careless where they were made....in communist Cuba for all I care!! I sold them simple cause they were BETTER then any of the America's out there for reliability & re-sell vaule among others. I RARELY lost customers to Ford, Chevy, GMC, Chrysler, etc!!

And I Wouldnt NOT sell Foresters just cause its Canadian- we sometimes have too much pride in ourselves, where it becomes more of an ego thing- "sell American even if its inferior"- NOT!! Ratings, not origin of country, make up the 1st reason to sell a carrier- then all the other stuff: ease of product, cust serv., payday, pricing, etc.

JMO tho!

I 100% agree with JD on the ratings thing- if its not A- rated at least, find some that are & start from there!! No reason (im sure theres maybe some exceptions) to sell B/C rated carriers!

A rating means very little .. In the turbulent days of the 80s and the 90s, it was the better rated companies that were going belly up. Mutual Benefit, Excutive Life, Kentucky Central, etc.

I own insurance with a B+ Best rated company and am perfectly comfortable with it. It has met all the requirements of the state DOI to do business in Tennessee and I have found our state to be as effective in rating companies as the ratings agencies.

I do care about the ratings and so does your E&O carrier.

Read your E&O again. Mine, it cares only if the claim is because a carrier with less than a A- went insolvent. Otherwise I am covered, or not covered as this is E&O which makes Swiss cheese look solid, regardless of the carrier's rating.
