National Life of Vermont

Name one other company that will insure someone for LTC benefits with a diagnosis of MS. Name one other company that will insure someone for LTC benefits who's using a 4-prong cane.

I've heard there is one carrier that will underwrite MS and other conditions. They won't do the cane. Only approved in a few states so far.

You mean like "for a single premium of $249,000 we will give you a death benefit of $250,000 with LTC thrown in because you are so bad off"?

That's obviously what it sounds like.

I have talked to home office rep, and I can't tell if the chronic illness rider is 2% capped per month or up to $300 per day indemnity type plan.

He was more worried about recruiting me to his FMO and telling me about ALL the products, but not answer my questions. I got tired and gave up, lol.

Anyone familiar with their life plans than can enlighten us?

Their plan is capped to the IRS Indemnity Benefit Limit, which for 2011 is $300/day.

And, Herman, no...
It's not a single premium policy, it's a U/L policy with annual payments.

I also found out that this policy is state specific for NY.

Interesting. I have a feeling its gonna be a challenge to make it attractive because of price at certain ages.
