New agent with Final Expense questions

Sorry 34 dollars I stand corrected, and no the agency owner is not ripping me off, he paid for my leads and worked them along side me.They were not quality leads.

34 dollar leads is better but still high, 30 bucks should be.

[QUOTE="RakeonThat is a line of bs that these people make 50 to 80k

Filter should be like 0-50k

That is a line of bs that these people make 50 to 80k either senior life is lying or the people who called in are lying. The areas that I went to half of them are the areas of the city where the majority of the shootings occur, and where most people do not want to drive through.

These people were on welfare.I had some ask if i could do payment with their access card.Don't tell me they made 50 to 80k a year and insult my intelligence.

If your agency mgr is brand new to selling FE....how can he train you successfully? Most agents that are brand new to FE think that leads are people just waiting to buy FE....after all, they did call the TV commercial (or mailed the DM card back in). It doesn't work that way, you have to use some salesmanship.

Come to NC and spend 3 days with me. I'll get 20 leads (DM or TV that come from Sr Life) and if we don't write 6 or more applications I'll pay for your plane ticket and your room and board. Better yet, ask your mgr. to pay for your plane and room and board, that way you can teach him how to sell FE....lol.

Most agents aren't going to accept leads in the areas they don't want to work. Who is choosing your area? More rural areas are usually preferable over impoverished inner city. But it just depends on the agen't choice.

You need to teach your manager that there are more competitive companies than Senior Life. Why would he limit you to that one?

Do rate comparisons on FexQuotes. That is how you learn which companies are competitive. If you don't have a subscription (you should) there is a free version on my website that allows anyone 5- free quotes per day.

OP, do this. Seriously.

Someone who knows how to sell will make all leads look like lay downs. One who doesn't know how to sell makes leads look like garbage. Right now you're frustrated and rightfully so. But if you never see this done correctly by a pro (& copy it verbatim) you'll never make it in a million years.

You don't need years of experience. You don't need a degree. You don't need to be smart. All you need is a proven presentation, decent fresh leads, and some elbow grease & the sky is the limit.

The quality of the lead depends a lot on the agent receiving them. You say neither your manager nor you have very much experience selling FE. That could be what is wrong with the leads. An experience FE agent might to we'll with the same lead

Another thing is you seem to have disdain for the people who are the ideal FE prospect. That attitude will show through to your prospect no matter how nice you try to be. The average FE project will be in the $5 - $25K income range, live in subsidized or substandard housing and be a world class procrastinator.

If he lived in Dallas, I'd take him and his leads out and show him how to sell to low income people, and split commission with him. However, I have the definite impression he wouldn't want to do it my way (not many do!).

I am not trying to be rude but how fiscally irresponsible do you have to be to not own a checkbook?I had one and my parents taught me how to write checks and balance an account as a child.

How can I get someone a policy when I can not do a bank draft, or have them be able to pay by check?
Some companies will allow sales on Social Security Direct Express cards. They hit the card on their SS payday. I think Senior Life might be one of them. Gerber will take any card. Just keep in mind, sales using debit cards instead of bank accounts have generally lower persistency and require a little more hand holding to keep them on the books.

Senior Life does not take DE as of now.

Using Transamerica for Direct Express limits the persistency hits by Social Security billing.

If the 1st/3rd fall on a weekend, Trans will go in on Friday and get that money before they can make a mad rush to the ATM. If they're up late, they can still beat trans to the punch, but it sure helps out a lot.
