New Door-to-Door Flyer Campaign

I've read the posts here and I've seen all the pros and cons, but I am going to let you all know what my results are from a door-to-door campaign that started 2 Fridays ago.

Hired a lady to go door-to-door dropping off flyers for Final Expense.

She's put out around 600 or so thus far, which, from my previous experience doing same, should yield 4-6 sales.

I hear some folks I am with are having big success doing just the same, so we'll see what happens.

Will keep you updated.

Hmmmmmmm......1000 TARGETED (income and age) Direct Mailers yields about 10-20 leads, costs approx. $400 and a decent FE agent will get 4-5 sales per 20 of these leads worked.

Your doorhangers are generating 4-6 sales per only 600 door hangers that are hung on door knobs, and cost much less than the DM! You either have a method of generating leads far
superior to direct mail or your figures are off base or you are bs'ing us.

600 not 6000.....these flyers are available for purchase by agents for $96 for 3000

I paid her $50 to get started, and will pay her $50 per sale I make, which on average is a $320 advance.

On average from previous results and experience, these campaigns have generated 1 sale per 100-150 or so.

And no, I am not going back door-knocking.

How do these people come in contact with you? Do they call you?

I don't have enough numbers from previous campaigns to be able to forecast anything, but my best reollection is that I put out roughly 300 or so and closed 3 deals from that.

Whatever, be skeptical if you need to, really doesnt concern me.

I've just been told by the manager at one of the agencies I am contracted with that this type solicitation is working very effectively for other agents.

Will keep those interested posted.

The flyers have my phone number printed on them, are post-paid, and internally have numerical indentifiers that are assigned to agents.

Glad it's working out. Does "post-paid" mean "postage paid"? If so, why postage paid on fliers via door hanging?

Yes it means "postage paid" and its there for obvious reasons:

1) it is very inexpensive to use either BRM or postage paid

2) my experience in this industry and others has shown that marketeers need to make it as easy as possible to be contacted.....most folks would rather just use BRM or post-paids and sent the thing back in......not one person has called me from door-to-door flyers being placed on their door or mailbox.

And I dont know that it is working out.........I'm just following the advice of an agency manager........see what happens.

It would appear that if the campaign is successful the most difficult part would be in having the consistent manpower to sustain it. People tend to do it one or two days then quit.

We'll see.

now I'm confused. Are they calling you or mailing the flyers back to you, to get the information?

My phone number is there for the inclination, but they have all mailed them back using post-paid.......the flyer has a built-in card they can detach and mail.

Where do you get the door hangers with detach?

Do you have a picture?

Is it hard to work in Hawaii, with the nice weather all the time??

"Been told by the manager" should have been your first clue that this was a bunch of BS.

Been told by an agent that it was working is a different story.
