You were definitely being set up. He's probably "dialing for dollars" until he finds an agent that is desperate enough to write it without asking too many questions. He must be having a hard time finding someone if you're a 3 hour drive away.

Do you have direct appts? You could be risking your loss ratio. If you are very concerned about it, Yu may consider having him call someone else and passing on this one.
