Part D Surprise 2010

Seniors are in for a big surprise if they just renew their Medicare Part D drug plan this year, without checking the details – like the premium, co-pays and deductibles. The cost for 2010 are substantially higher than 2009. And there are fewer plans – roughly 40% fewer. Plus, more plans with deductibles. And co-pays are way up!

Just what we need – more angry seniors!

Don't forget formulary changes. Last year Humana, gutted their formulary on 1.01.09.

I used to use coventry and they were fairly priced at $23. Now they are $35 with a $100 deductible.

I also have AARP's Part D at $35 with no deductible. Does anyone know of a better part D to get for 2010?

I am seriously thinking about not offering any medicare products beside supplements. The risks seems greater than the reward.

I don't believe you people!

Did you actually think Part D Plans would actually cost less?

Did you think that companies would keep drugs with high claims use on their formulary?

I'm pissed that gas costs more than it did in 1998! Who wants to join me in that fight.

HELLO, MCFLY!

You guys kvetch (yiddish term meaning kvetch) more than the Medicare Beneficiaries do. Name me one insurance product that has gone down in price as the years go on.

:1baffled:

My philosophy: If you don't like it, and can't believe in it, you shouldn't be selling it.

Plan designs will change. Prices will go up.

Went from $23 a month to $35.90 a month on the value plan and added in a $100 deductible here in Florida. I'll have a lot of people bitching at me over that.:swoon:

Well yes we all know that health insurance changes annually both in coverage and premium. However, most of us have some borderline clientele between broke and just over broke. So when their out-of-pocket increases, there is wailing and gnashing of teeth.

That was the siren's call of those zero-premium MA's. I think many were lulled into a false sense of security and never saved several hundred dollars for medical expenses.

Now those MA's have raised their OOP to $4500-5000 range. That will be a chunk to owe for the group that gets caught. Ah yes...the Big KISSOFF is coming.

Are you speaking of the reward of $20-$25 commission for taking 30-45 mins to put all their meds into Medicare.gov to figure out which is the best plan for Part D. Then figuring out how best to stay out of the coverage gap? Compare mail order plans etc. Not to mention the cost of gas to go out there.
I personally would like to see every one of those scum-bags that that voted for that MIPPA law, voted out of office. At least have their salaries capped at a ridiculously low amount.
Sorry for the vent.:1mad:
I personally would like to sell more supps as well, but what do you do for those on LIS and just over who can't afford them.
What about those paying $4550 per yr. for Meds? Then you have to fork over another $150 or so a month for health care in addition to the $96.40 they are already holding out!
