Rearden- Update

No middle-man taking a 10% to 20% cut.

I'm direct to my Securus RVP as JD is direct to Travis Tubbs.

Not to mention I had too frequent lead issues.

Nevertheless, I would advise the brand-spanking new insurance agent who may or may not have sales experience to go with EFES or Securus (unless I was coaching them).

Reason is I think EFES is less focused on team-building compared to Securus. Odds are you'll get a more experienced, more tenured life insurance agent training you at EFES.

With that said... there's a few managers at Securus that, if I could go direct with them, I would. Tim Winders is one that comes to mind; him and a few others.

^^That seems odd to me as well. I don't know if I have two writing numbers with Monumental or not. I never use anything but my retail number anyway.

I do know I got a small bump in FYC with Mon and a take away on renewals last spring. I write so little with them that it doesn't matter anyway. Even less now that they stopped taking credit/debit cards. That was about the only reason to use them.

That Americo deal from 2 years ago is still a sore spot with me. They lowered their rates by 15% on UPI. They started paying us on the policy fee, they bumped FYC by 10% but took away all renewals. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. I tried to negotiate my own deal where I didn't get the 10% bump in FYC but kept renewals but had no luck in doing so.

On you whole sale number with Americo you still get renewals.

I would do more business with Americo if it wasn't for that. I would never make a company my "go to" company without renewals. I pretty much only use them now for situations where others won't take the person and for male smokers over age 60 and pipe, cigar and smokeless tobacco users.

Of course here in Ky a lot of people fall into that latter category.

Doesn't AmAm have the same tobacco guideleines as Americo?

No. AmAm considers smokeless tobacco as tobacco just as most everyone else does. AmAm does say that "occasional" pipe and cigar users are non tobacco but they will not define "occasional". The best I was ever get to commit to was that once a week is not occasional. They wouldn't define once a month as occasional. They did say something like, " a person that smokes a cigar when their favorite team wins the super bowl or if they have a grand child is occasional.

They are so anal to deal with on stuff like that. You just can't do business on their maybe.
