Replaced Foresters Today

So because a FE agent is too lazy to learn different companies products, it's okay for him to sell a Modified Plan, with Senior Life, when the applicant would qualify for DAY 1 coverage with another carrier??? it's bone head decisions like this, that hurt the consumers, and give us bad names! How would you feel if an agent sold your mom a policy that had a 2 year waiting period, when she is healthy enough to qualify for immediate coverage with another carrier???

I'd be bummed. In this case I would hope that the Foresters agent came back and explained this.

However even if an agent knows several companies it still doesn't mean the system works perfectly all the time. If you read the boards lately, you'll see where agents who have all these companies are scratching their heads at times when one day a carrier will take a case and the next day they don't take almost if not an exact case.

But now you are rambling off about the nature of FE when that is not what this thread is about. Their is a LH thread about the issue you bring up and others. This thread is about the original poster and his recent case.

Who knows, maybe he'll branch out with other carriers.

Was just making a general statement....Not one product is going to fit everybody's needs....Otherwise there would only be Ford's out there on the road

With all due respect, Mr. Benedict, why not add more value on top of what you do by ensuring your clients have coverage with a top-rated, competitively-priced carrier?

What's so different and value-adding -- to the client -- that LH has over other FE products with a better price?

Cmon, bud. I think that you and I probably work similarly. LH does have a very nice replacement form and I did use it. I'm neither lazy nor uninformed. I've been in the biz for thirty two years. I am uniformed though. Levi action slacks in heather gray, light blue dress shirt no tie, name tag and "Mr Rogers" blue cardigan sweater. Over the years I've determined that this get up is best for canvassing...Everyone misses the point of how I sell FE. I make it easy for the family to buy. How? I complete all of the forms (6) that Mrs Prospect has to complete at the funeral home on the worst day of her life starting with a death certificate. Could all you Johnny Smileys swinging a kit do that? Sure you could. Embalming form? Disposition of Cremated Remains Form. That tells the state of Callif where the bone fragments are going.Living will. I believe that I have to give before I get. How big a value is it for a family to let me in the house? A lot. And then I'll tell Mrs Prospect that I've done everything I promised I would do. "I could cost out your arrangements if you like..." I earn the right to ask for the sale. And then I arrange for the money to be delivered to the funeral home when she needs it most.I don't worry about premium. She doesn't either if I've done my job right.I do everything from A to Z so that her family doesn't have to do anything but comfort each other. Is that what your guys do? Or should I just run and gun and shoot her a figure?

You've hit the nail on the head FD. I imagine you're pretty successful at what you do.

I've learned a lot about the swinging...er you know, on here the past few years and many of them are arrogant and selfish and it shows in their posts.

Well put! however, I bet he doesn't want to take the time to learn a new company, that could provide more value to his clients...

Thanks for the kind words...I'm not Allen Benedict. He wears shorts on his calls and I'm too shy for that. My legs only come out at night and at home...

Good question. And also with due respect FD, it's great you do all that for your clients. I'm jealous. But you don't have to offer LH to do that do you? Why not offer a lower priced, higher rated company then LH? Is their a reason you would care to share? I really am curious.

I know LH's UW. I would rather walk through fire than go back for a rewrite. And I don't like PHI at the kitchen table. I need fast issue. I need fast pay after death. I'm the outside FDR for two funeral homes and every visit has to count. I don't make appts and I'm a one call guy, so in all candor, I overwhelm the prospect with competence. In short, I need to sure that what I write will be issued. The package isn't perfect but seems OK...I do deliver policies though and go back when I'm on that street next year just to shoot the breeze so maybe I'm not a one call guy. I break a lot of my own rules...Like if there's a Subaru in the driveway, I skip the house...;)

SL has more liberal underwriting hence the higher premiums.

Mattshit, you've already been fired/terminated from either 1 or 2 mgrs. up here already. You are just bitter because you saw SL was not going to contract you because of some personal/biz issues....vector problems, credit problems, or background problems I'm guessing.

You NEVER seem to add anything of value to this forum, just a bunch of negativity. Why r u so unhappy and bitter?

With all due respect, that's a lot of premiums "you" need -- of which all is easily solvable with several final expense solutions -- in exchange for hundreds of dollars, if not thousands of dollars of added expense to your client.

FD -- the only reason you're getting heat is that, as someone who adds tremendous value to your client, you arguably choose the product that extracts the most value away comparable to alternatives -- not for the good of your client, but for your own sake.

It just doesn't make sense, given what you do above and beyond for your client.
