I'm thinking of signing up for sales genie
i spoke with one of their reps on the phone and they said they have a great recent homeowners database
i plan on using for my mailing lists
i know i can probalbly get a list of counties online but most are a hassle to find and have missing info on them.
so i rather no waste time. (time= money)
it would cost 250 a month or 2k for the whole year.

please let me know your experiences and thoughts

THANKS IN ADVANCE :)

I would never use them. I found their info to be very inaccurate. Especially with respect to home values. Resident age info was also very inaccurate. They always promised fixes and enhancements but they never materialized.

Biggest waste of $1800 of my insurance career. Never mind, I forgot about Cold Solutions. Sales Genie was the second biggest waste of money in my insurance career. Of course, I have only been at it for 29 years.

I completely disagree on this one. My experience with the data is that it is over 90% accurate.

**They'll give you 5000 free downloads with the $999 annual subscription if you ask. That's just a heads up in case that's enough for your mailing list.

All depends what your application is. Sales Genie is decent data, does have its inaccuracies, but what database doesn't?

I use Haines. It is cheaper and more targeted at homeowners. It is less targeted at businesses, so again, it depends on your application (and location, since Haines only covers a few states).

Haines Coverage Areas for direct marketing and lists

Sales Genie is usually available for much less money, but you may have to talk to the right person. They have contracts with several carriers (at least it seemed when I subscribed to them). I paid $100 a month for the full package. That was years ago though.

The average sales person you talk to may not have the discounted 'corporate rates', there is a separate sales group for that. I lucked out (actually they did, I wouldn't pay $250 a month for it), the lady I was talking to had a daughter who sold in the other group, she transferred me to allow her daughter to get the sale.

I would just call Sales Genie and ask if they have any corporate rates..... Tell them you are an agent representing ????? and see what comes up! Pick the largest carrier you sell for.

There's a Lite version that can save money.

The problem I see with Sales Genie is two-fold:

1) 12-month minimum
2) You have "unlimited" sales leads, but in reality, will you really take advantage of unlimited leads? Your not going to market to households, for example, that are 600 miles away. You probably can't even market to all households in your area, so why pay for unlimited? For the amount of manageable leads you can work, it works out to a lot per lead.

I'll second that. In my experience, Sales Genie has the cleanest data available.

Calling Sales Genie "leads" is a misnomer. A "lead" is someone that has shown some level of interest in something - they've raised their hand so to speak.

Sales Genie is data - lists if you will.

I can't vouch for the accuracy of household data on Sales Genie, but the business data is around 90% and up.

Oh, and if you're an Aflac agent you get a discount. The only problem is that Aflac customers are removed from the Sales Genie database.
