Who would want to work with an IMO where they try to see what low levels they can get away with handing out to the unsuspecting agent who doesn't know to ask?

Do you really need to ask anymore questions about them? That's all most agents would need to know to run away!

They push for agents to acquire their own downline so they can make 20 point spreads and basically have no chargeback liabilities

I agree and it is very true.

My questions though was why would any agent want to work with any IMO who tries to see just how much of a low level they can talk an agent into taking?

In other words, I call as a new agent and they tell me one thing while the next new agent could be told something different. Sounds like they try to see just how much override they can get out of each individual agents as they are appointing them.

Some outfits it's all about them and everything is for them. No fun doing business with greedy people.

Every legit agency should be able to provide a detailed commission grid that shows the minimum commissions that they give to all agents.

The agents are always free to negotiate more from there if they have something special to offer. But the ONLY reason that an agency doesn't provide that is because they want to try to tweek it in their own direction if they can pull it off.

Happens every day.

Blanket statements like this are most often not true as a whole. We don't provide one like you have but we also don't change what we offer. So no, it's not the ONLY reason.

Well not only. But you have to agree that most of the agencies that don't give them out are doing so to "feel out" the agent to see how much they need to give him. If the agent is green and doesn't know any better they hive him lower. If it's obvious the agent has talked to you or me you better believe the agent will get what he should get.

I understand that the world works as a "buyer beware" type of thing. But agent's shouldn't accept that from marketers. If you call the big agencies like Pinney you get a grid of all their companies. We at Fex do the same. I don't think commission levels should be a mystery for a new agent to learn about.

You should make a grid Todd. It's the right thing to do. Just take mine, put your name at the top and bump everything 5-points.

We have planned on making one, so I do agree with you that we ought to have one. However, if I bumped it 5 points then that would make us giving out 5 points above you and you wouldn't want that would you? :twitchy:
