Seeking Advice from Agents in South Florida

Read my other posts. I joined this forum to find information and meet people to share ideas. I mentioned myself as a local opportunity for a local thread. Someone even inquired and I told them I'm not hiring outside of this office. Regardless, if this was a violation of forum rules (which I admittedly never read) I would agree you should report it. I also understand how you want to portray me and I see there's no getting by that so I wish you the best of luck, I've met the guys I came to meet. The rest of this back and forth is really just for the guy who may come along and completely give up on his phone room idea because so many people say it's impossible (for some unknown reason.) Props to those who have an open mind and know they can do better despite the noise of the crowd.

Let's see, you pay 30%, as opposed to the 120% an independent can get. Since they get 30% of what you get up front, they don't get paid months 7-12 or 10-12(I'm guessing you have it set up for a 6 month advance so you can beat them out of an extra 3 months commissions), or renewals.

So an independent would only need one sale a day to come out ahead of your "average agent that gets $3,000 of "free" leads each week.

I tried selling over the phone with my 120%+ contracts when I was out with a broken foot. I invested so much to see if I could do it and let's just say that I wouldn't recommend it. I make good money selling f2f so I wouldn't switch but I honestly have no clue how these guys do it.

Point being 120% meant nothing to me when I lost money. At least at 30% those guys don't risk losing money.

When I say I don't know how these guys do it, I'm not sure they really do. I'm just taking people at their word for it. But 5 sales a day, if that could be proven (agent writing 25 sales a week). You'd be a hero in my book!

A good day 4 guys write 25 apps. Bad day, 17-20. If one agent consistently cant hold their weight theyre cut just because I have such limited lead flow

I agree, 100% of nothing, is still nothing.

I'm still face to face, but I'll start going the way of the phone next winter. I'll be selling Med Supps though and cross selling FE and other ancillary products, just like I do now.

Lots of guys sell Med Supps over the phone. I couldn't imagine selling FE over the phone. I'm sure it's a lot harder.

Yeah med supps are incredible for the phone model. As for FE, you really have to have the right provider and keep good records of ALL performance so you can hone in on a profitable CPA. Taking every call from the first crap provider who promises the world to you can leave a bad taste in your mouth. Id say 50-75% of providers would leave you broke without a doubt.

We know Northstar uses American Amicable as an exclusive; who do you guys use?

So you have 4 agents that right about 100 applications a week? 25 per agent per week?

Yessir this is accurate. Keep in mind we sell more than just FE. Those are the easiest to get higher volume of calls in because seniors are more likely to allow someone to sell them on the phone. At least that's my theory. But all life insurance products, no cross selling-yet.

Phoenix, Foresters, Americo, and North American are our primary carriers. Guaranteed issue is pivoted to Trans, AIG, or 5 star
