Spoke with an agent in Georgia who just left them. She was charged back all her commissions, even earned.

Told me she wrote a letter of complaint to the Georgia department of insurance...don't know if that will light a fire for them to be investigated.

It won't. The state's DOI are not there for agents. They serve the insurance companies first and the consumers second and the agnts are not on the radar.

Ummm....how can I say this and not appear to be a jerk? No one should be able to tell you to quit a job except YOU. You needed to be more vigilant in your research before quitting your job. I'm sorry this happened to you. Of course, hindsight is 20/20 but you probably should have took a short leave of absence from your job while you were exploring this option.
