SEO for Insurance Websites

Hi,
Have you had any success with that YellowPages no cost listing? I put 2 up (one for me, and one for someone else) about 2 several weeks ago and the position still says "processing". I'm wondering YellowPages really doesn't want you do to the freebies.

Also, I really wish I realized which associates proved helpful at DMOZ so I could tell them to evaluation my site! I've again been trying to post there several periods with no success. A lot of individuals I know are saying that it's really not value the attempt and it's better to get outlined in more, less challenging internet directories that are no cost.

As far as the running a website thoughts - it really does function. I put up a website recently break and last night (monday) it was already outlined and displaying up on the first web page of Search engines for about 3 of the key terms that I selected to focus on. If you're trying to decide which running a website web page to use -Wordpress is 100x better than Writer. There are more abilities for excellent SEO content.
Thanks.

Here's an interesting question.

Suppose you have a PR4 site (I know...PR really is overblown).

Is it worthwhile to get some backlinks from PR2 sites?

It is always worthwhile to get a mix of links from multiple PR and topic websites, so that your links don't look fake/manufactured.

If you have 100 PR9 links, and 0 pr2, it looks fake.

Remember also, the value of pr is in magnitudes, not simple digital levels.

10 = 10 times more than 9
9 = 10 times more than 8
8 = 10 times more than 7

etc.

So having 10 pr9 links and 10 pr8 links also looks pretty fake.

I'm a firm believer in chaos looking more real than order. Much better for random links from random pr going everywhere than something that looks very planned.

can you tell me on what sites i should get links?

The first link you should get would be from google themselves. If you don't have your website and your business listed in google places or google maps then that would be the first place to start. Use google maps if you have clients come to your office. Any directory that you can think of.

Here is the list of the best 15 directories:

Google Places
Bing
Yahoo!
Yelp
Merchant Circle
Yellow Pages.com
Supermedia
Yellow Book
Citysearch
MapQuest
Local.com
Foursquare
LinkedIn
CitySlick
Angie’s List.com
BONUS! Facebook Fan Page

Blog networks are getting deindexed left and right. I won't mention any names, but I've noticed a couple of you guys have lost ranking for some seriously competitive keywords. I know because I rank for them too and I've seen you guys drop. I also predicted with one of your sites that it would happen when I looked at that sites link profile. Article networks where people voluntarily republish your posts are a much better option.

Google is actually joining some of these blog networks just to bust them. This is serious stuff, if you rely on SEO take note! So far the updates and busts of these networks has helped me by taking out some of my competition but they could easily have hurt me if I had taken the super easy route.

That's cute misinformation.

Google has been deindexing the blogs that are used in the networks themselves, but not the sites they were linked to.

The problem is, you start deindexing every site that is linked to from a blog network, people will create blog networks to deindex their competitors.

If you'd think for a second rather that repeating something you read somewhere else without investigation, you'd realize they cannot do that without adverse consequences.

What you said is purely incorrect.
