SEO for Insurance Websites

This is one of the reasons, you dont rest on your laurel's once you get a top ranking, keep building maintenance links from different sources, so if some links get deindexed you wont lose your serp position.

The fact is Blog networks in addition to high PR homepage links are some of the most effective links you can acquire which is why Google is always on the hunt for them.

Join networks that moderate content, and dont give you a report of your backlinks.

Sponsored blog posts dont seem to have much value in my opinion. Like some of you have mentioned, once the post falls off of the homepage it will slip into the archived and lose its value. You may want to consider buying blogrolls from industry related blogs. This will get you a link on the homepage and ever other sub page within the site.
Cheers

This is great advice. I would add that setting up a google analytic account and even a google webmaster account. They are great tools for monitoring your sites growth. They also help with indexing, sitelinks, and crawling.

Just remember that it's a long, tedious process. Many of the index sites take weeks or even months to add your site.

It generally takes about 30 minutes for my pages to show up in the index...

Very helpful, tough to get started with SEO.

Its tough because EVERYONE starts with the wrong thing.

Step 1 to learning SEO is learning how to find keywords worth targeting, and how HTML tags work.

Nearly every piece of advice I ever see is someone suggesting to just go randomly blog, then wait, ???, then profits!

It's like teaching someone to hunt by suggesting they go outside with a rifle and start shooting in random directions hoping that one of the rounds might strike a deer.

That sounds like you too went to the Cheney School of Marksmanship!

Lol if it was Cheney, you'd get drunk first, and shoot at birds being released from cages, and mistake a guy taking a piss walking out of the bushes for new birds that just got set loose.

Ah, new facts emerge in the case of the Cheney shooting.

You say he was drunk.

Care to support that allegation with fact?

Purely rumor, known fact that they did allow drinking at that "ranch" and that Cheney does drink, and that the man who was shot walked out of the bushes.

I heard it then and thought it was funny. You might be taking this a bit too serious.
