We are also hearing of agents having excellent results with referrals from Allstate, State Farm and tax prep places. I know of one locally that is finishing up 35 employees at two different employers referred by an Allstate agent where the employers were dropping the group coverage and instead giving the employees raises.

Those are nice to write... especially if you can do it without getting near the subsidy quick sand.

If they're low-skilled workers, you can lose them easily though. I've experienced this attrition already. But a few stick. Worth the minimal effort.
