Setting Up My Website Content

Better than Izzy's?

Oh yeah, better than Izzy's... it is like putting 50 of the original Izzy's into one bldg. The place is like ants crawling on an ant hill around lunch time. We were there last August, we split a corned beef on rye, and had two potato pancakes and two soft drinks... the bill was $ 32.00. Wow... NYC, what can I say...?

Did you ever go to the original Izzy's down on Plum St... between 7th and 8th, I think.... about the sizze of two bowling lanes side by side. This was before they franchised the place, which weren't near as good. They never had checks, you just went to the register and told Izzy what you had... he calc'd it in his head and put the money in the cigar box... I'm sure he paid taxes on every cent...
Izzy >>>>

That was a gem of a spot though.

I went to the original place once...obviously many years ago.

They used to have an Izzys in Downtown Dayton...around 1987 or so. Since our office was downtown, I used to go there a few times per week. But it closed around 1990.

Just guessing on the dates.

Thanks for the tip on IJ's rss / xml feeds -went looking on their site and found it buried back in the woods - 8 layers deep? Guess the news without all those nifty banner adds isnt all that great for IJ's bottom line :-)

Our RSS feed can be accessed at

Anyhow ... if you guys are blogging with WordPress on your own hosted sites [I recommend that ] Cool way to get content on your blog. Always be mindful of the TOS of the feed, and if ya gunna use their content better be prepared to leave their full links BACK to their articles/site intact - least ya could do.

Im using an autoblogging WordPress plugin called YAAB - yet another auto blog ...

Get it here: www.psypo.com/yaab

Look for the download link ...

So - when I combine YAAB with Google FREE Reader - my RSS News Reader - I can set up AUTOBLOGGING.

All my feeds I read aggregate into Google reader ... the ones I want to put on my blog, I tag in Google reader as a topic. I click the tag icon and name it/tag it [only hav to do it once and google prefills for you the next time] Insurance, Referrals, Viral Marketing, Life Insurance, Health, Disability etc ... When I tag the content in Google FREE Reader - I also SHARE it - the little icon next to TAG in google reader.

What this does is create MY OWN RSS FEED of the tagged content.

After I have installed YAAB as a plugin on my blog - I subscribe YAAB [cuz thats what ya do] to my own personal RSS FEEDS ive created in google reader.

Far bottom left of google reader - little tiny letters "Manage Subscriptions" - click that ...

This shows you the items you've tagged and shared. Click Folders and Tags option at top ....

Next click View Public Page - pops a new browser window and in the URL area of the browser is the URL to your Custom FEED.

Copy and paste that into YAAB in your WP Blog software and set YAAB to poll that feed daily or weekly.

I tell YAAB to post all stuff to my blog as a DRAFT.

From there I mark it up - add coments, hyper links to pages I want them to visit off keywords in the articles [its kinda Pavlovian - peeps just like to click! ]

You could fill up a site and get good SEO in a long weekend this way if you really wanted. Never go hungry for content again :-)

I try and post about 10 drafts to the blog per sitting, and tweak them, then set them to post in 1 a day for the next 10 days ... Im a bit behind now - been making videos ...

Off to make 3 posts as we speak - peace!

I see where you are coming from (with auto-blogging) but I have to wonder how relevant the information is to your audience.

We have a rather large, and broad audience at InsureBlog. But a much smaller (but growing) blog, Health Insurance 411, is much more directed at clients and prospects.

One question. What is keyword tagging and how is it accomplished?

Its hard to explain by typing .. perhaps I'll do a quick camtasia video for you guys to check it out ...

Its very relevant ... its not totally AUTO blogging ... it autoblogs only the articles I have Tagged ...;)

Certain tags go to certain blogs or certain "categories" of a blog. Its not a random bunch o' stuff jammed on a blog for sake of keywords.

Relevance is important.

I know ya'll are tired of me discussing my blog, not trying to pimp anything in this post ... but a sample of the system I discussed above is this post.

How To Get More Referrals

-Aggregated from another blog/source in Google Reader.
-Tagged with Referral Marketing
-Shared w/ my Comments in Google reader
-YAAB posted it as a draft to my dashboard in WP
-I added an image - pressed publish with a future date
