Starting a Position with Securus FE

In my opinion you are setting yourself for failure by scheduling the appointments too far out. I only schedule for the next day. I do know successful agents that schedule for Monday on Sat., but that's as fa out as they will go.

Scheduling 3 and 4 days out is just a recipie for disaster.

+1 to JD -- stuff you'll learn as you work.

I used to go as far out as Friday, set on Monday night. Did not have too much of a problem with it, but I agree, two days out or three should be about maximum, people forget after too long.

Securus has a special deal with Monumental that no one can be released for 1-full year after their last business is issued. They stick to it.

Also agents who have Monumental should check their appointments with the DOI website. We automatically were appointed with Stonebridge a few months ago with no notice. I assume that's to prevent dual contracting.

You were appointed with Stonebridge because the IUL product for Trans or MonLife is on Stonebridge paper, Stonebridge Life Distribuition is now a subsidiary of Transamerica.

You can no longer get a Stonebridge Life Distribution contract. It no longer exists as of 1/1/2012. It is Transamerica now. All existing Stonebridge writing numbers have been merged with Transamerica. It was a slow process, they match all agents by Social Security number now for the 6 month rule on New Contracting. You may Still be able to write if you have an old Stonebridge number (prior to 01/01/2012) and a separate MonLife number. But new agents cannot do this.

MonLife IMO's that only offered MonLife offer the IUL product in there contracting/product offering. Transamerica and now Stonbridge IMO's offer the Complete Transamerica Line + the MonLife FE Products.

You will not be able to get by the Securus Stranglehold at MonLife, it will be 12 months before you can move it.

Newby told me about that a little while back about his being appointed with Stonebridge without any action on his part. I'm also appointed with Monumental and Transamerica but I didn't have a Stonebridge appointment pop up.

Why would they just appoint some and not others?

It may be different per State. Depends on each products filing and each agents contract level. never know for sure at Aegon. They are so screwed up in licensing.

Alright sounds good, I haven't had any issues thus far. I think I will find out for sure on Wednesday haha. Yeah I had a pretty rough day yesterday out at appointments. The people didn't even know why they sent the card in. I asked the lady if i found her a plan she could qualify for, a plan that would fit her needs and budget, and a plan that SHE SEES THE VALUE TO, would you be willing to start this plan today... "No" lol... she had to talk to her kids, well i can see where youre coming from mrs x, but this is ultimately your decision, not to mention your children do not want to make decisions on your death, but on your life...so in the end we have to ask ourselves, are we alright with passing the burden of our final expenses off to our loved ones? "well we have enough money in the bank and i still have to talk to my daughter" , so let me ask you this, if you were getting brain surgery, would you ask your daughter how you should be operated on or would you take it to a brain surgeon? "well id ask my daughter first" okay maam, so do you make decisions on your every day life? "yes" so that means when you go grocery shopping, you dont call your daughter and ask her what you can buy, right? i dont know, i didnt throw it all at her at once but i said just about all i could...

I realize I am not your market, However, I have never used that type of close and is used on me, I would have started laughing. I would guess that kind of close is a lapse or a non take in waiting.

and you know, thats part of the reason why I am here. i was trying to be somewhat humorous in that but obviously i have a long ways to go... enlighten me in any way you can haha

That's the rumor going around that they won't release people...as a matter of fact, about 90% of IMO's refuse to release people..It doesn't make sense, especially when there is no debit balance, or any debt related to the upline

I have to agree with you. I also will say that any carrier and IMO that negotiates to keep someone held hostage for 12 months is definitely not a friend of the agent.

I have never had this objection come up except once and that was because I did not do my due diligent warm up/fact find. This is a good one to ask JDEasy. If anyone can tell you how to overcome this objection he can.

JD, How do you overcome this objection?

I'm glad you have family you can rely on for their judgment. Unfortunately, no one has a crystal ball about tomorrow or what it may bring. We can apply for coverage based on your health today and the good news is there is a free look provision. When I deliver the policy have your daughter here, if she agrees it is in everyone's best interest to have this plan in place then you made a good and wise decision. If she disagrees, you still made a good decision because you have talked about issues that need to be discussed before your passing.
