It’s going well. I’m an SIAA member. Sounds similar. Great market access. Have more opportunities with them than I would have otherwise!

I seriously try them as well. I hear you don't need experience in insurance to join, is that correct? Either SIAA or CIA I might do.

It really depends on the local group or “Master Agency”. Some require experience, others will make exceptions.

I guess CIA is one of those exceptions. I think I said earlier a guy just got P&C licensed and he got 13 carriers through them

There are groups with non competes... which doesn't make any sense if you.... eh hem, own your book...

There are groups with up to 100 percent commission... but no bonus...

There are groups that have hidden gotchas in the contract.. but then again some are transparent.

Every group has checks and balances, and if you think you found the golden key in anyone of them just by what their websites say you probably have overlooked something. Interview them... grill em, and ask the tough questions.

All I am trying to say is that there are outfits that pay up to 90% new and renewal commission, 75% bonuses, no non compete, and real dedicated appointments.

Take your time and remember If that non compete makes you feel a little uneasy it means you dont feel 100% confident in the decision... nor does your group feel confident you'll stay.

I know him well. He is a great man. And I have always called him Trout. I know he has a "real" name"- I cant remember it- but EVERYONE calls him Trout.

I second or third Trout. Whichever one we are on. Totally right. If there was a one size fits all then there would only be one option and one route to go. And the reason a lot of us have screen names is because we want to ask the hard questions and be transparent and it not come back to bite us.
