Starting With Securus

Maybe I'm missing something.

If a lead is resold -- and you've done your job by getting them the best policy at the best price -- and you're doing the steps necessary to solidify your relationship with your client -- what is there to worry about?

Truth is, these people are going to send more cards back eventually and probably talk to your competitors anyway.

Seriously. If you've done your best job, what is there to worry about?

I think I hit most of what was asked for in the EFES thread. As for my experiences with Securus, it has been great. Until about 6 weeks ago I had never sold insurance in my life.

I have owned a few small businesses but always loathed the management aspect of running a business. I always wanted to just do something for myself without having to worry about what was going on with my business once I got home or when I was on vacation. This program gives me so much more freedom than I have ever had.

Some of you are asking for my numbers which is kind of a personal question, but I'll answer it this way. I was making about 75k a year running my last small business. It was long hours and a lot of physical labor.

So far with Securus I am on pace to exceed that. As long as you see my active on these forums, then that will still be true. Of course there are other agents our there making more than me. Some use lead programs, some do their own mailing. For me at this moment, I feel like I am in the best position I can be w/ Securus.

As for the poster that said these forums are worthless and a waste of time, I strongly disagree. If it wasn't for the regular posters on these threads, I would have never had the courage to jump into this business. I owe them (you know who you are) a ton. So far, it has been the best decision I have ever made.

Wonderful! Congratulations! Keep up the good work.

The issue that I have with the "inside" reselling of leads is that they are starting you out at 55% commission and having you pay $20 something for a lead and keeping at least 30-40% of your commission. Then they tell you that if you do not get in touch with this client within "X" number of days and sell them you may have competition from "within" the ranks of Securus. So they make money not only off of giving you a very low contract but also by reselling your lead. I might would be ok with this if they held your lead for 6 month but 30 days. There is no subsidizing here, just smoke and mirrors.

I'd be pissed too if I was at 55% with $20 lead costs...

Good thing it isn't that way.

Yeah. I don't believe I've ever heard of Securus offering anything that low. The lowest I've heard of from them is 80%. NAA starts people at 55%. Maybe that's where it's coming from? NAA leads also cost more than $21.

55%? Where do you come up with this stuff?

Directly from a recruiter for Securus. I aint making this this up. But, I am glad to know that some recruiters for Securus starts their agents at 80%. That is a bit of a difference.
